why are all brides wearing green on their mehndi? this seems to be a new trend. I know that in Iran they wear green on the “henna” and there are legit reasons for wearing this color. Personally, I prefer the traditional yellow, what do you guys think?

Welll, baji, I heard that wearing yellow is more of a hindu trend then a muslim one (back in the old days)! and that might be the reason why brides like me! are opting for the green clothes!

I think a lot of brides are opting to wear yellow on their mayouns and another color on their mehndi.

well i dunno... i don't think it's a new trend. i've been to alot of mehndi's where the bride wore green. green is the main traditional colour to wear along with yellow imo

Yeah I don't think this is a new trend at all. I've seen brides wearing different shades of green at their mehndi for a long time. I think they choose green because it is the color of dry mehndi.

it has always been traditionally yellow and green. People did yellow for a long time, so I just think people are now turning towards green to be a little different. Im wearing green for my mehndi as well inshAllah.

***Green has been worn on mehndi for a very long time. The mehndi function is the henna night for us. Yellow is associated with manja. Brides are now wearing different colours on their mehndis including red.

Its very common, ppl wear green on mehndi & yellow on manja. I think coz it reflects the colour of the main ingredients like mehndi is of green color & haldi is of yellow color.

miss sweet baji. . . . . green or yellow dsnt have to do anything with religion.... green was totally in fashion and yellow seemed boring till last year...................... this year the hottest trend for mehndi is YELLOW. yes yellow is back again....... and mixed contrased with deep pinks reds greens and blues..... and yes stick to anarkali style and flowey gosmery shiffons... 3pc jamawar suits shd be banned..!!!

Yellow has always been reserved as a mayun color...wearing green is a very old concept and brides are actually deviating from this now. They try to wear colorful and fun outfits versus the typical green.
As for the yellow being a hindu thing...we have as a people borrowed everything from clothes to jehez from the Hindus...whats a color? I doubt wearing yellow or green will make anyone less or more of a Muslim.
