I 'll give it a 8/10

Am tired, will write a review tomorrow :stuck_out_tongue:

A little different from the typical Vietnam movie.

Usually the movies/books about Vietnam I have read give the picture "we are good people fighting for a cause and the enemy is stupid, not worthy and have no courage" ... but this movie gave a little different impression.

A message clear that war is savage and should be avoided at all costs. And that it makes orphans on both sides. The Vietnamese were fighting foreigners for their land and they had the same courage and dedication as the American solders, probably more.

Also some truth on how the CIA and 'the headquarters' drum up war for their own political favors/agendas.

The kick butt factor was still there! I guess without that glorification the movie won't make any money.

Maybe I liked the movie because of that Journalist character who comes to the battlefield to shot pictures and tell the people the 'real' story, so the war may stop. And as his father and grandfathers were in the army and having seen the atrocities himself he was willing to do anything to stop a war ... and I guess I can relate to that!

I agree..The film was pretty good. My favorite shot was when they (US) flashed the lights in the jungle and you saw hundreds of Viet Cong Soldiers creeping up
