We need a name for women haters

Yeah, you and your aunt make up 99% of the population in the west :)

Re: We need a name for women haters

@Psquared I think almost everyone knows that religiously speaking women (and vice versa men) are recommended NOT to mix with men unnecessarily. Widows and exceptions exist, but in general, I seriously doubt that it is recommened in Islam.

But then again, my own mom was a working woman but she had to go through a lot of hard work to keep the balance in the home and work. I think its a matter of choice. If a woman can work in a decent (i know a relative term) environment AND take care of the children, great. If not, I wouldn't recommend it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a light job like teaching a couple of hours a week or something like that, but I don't think I will ever gulp down the work environment atleast in pakistan for women.

I think most of the arguments on this forum also stem from the fact that most girls/women are doing jobs in the west where the work environment is atleast a little better in some respects. But in Pakistan, I really dislike it cuz of the pervys hitting on women all the time.Yes I admit its mostly due to the men, but still office jobs is not a beautiful prospect in pakistan. Abroad maybe ....

Re: We need a name for women haters

Why has this become a discussion about whether women can work or not? It is not forbidden for women to work. PERIOD.

Now if you want to debate the decline of Western civilization and base it in the fact that women are out working more, maybe you should think about the fact it is not simply the fact that women are working that is the problem. If women working is a threat to the family structure, then that is because we still haven't figured out how to make it work, and a proper support system hasn't developed. Women want to work? Then they and their husbands need to talk it out and see how to make it work without sacrificing a child's well-being. There are countless examples of this working. And countless examples of it not working. It's up to the couple to decide who they want to be.

@Sahar02

Why do you look so angry in your avatar ? Makes me think twive before replying to anything you write :)

Re: We need a name for women haters

^ That’s the idea. :smiley:

Though of course it’s a little odd for an adult male to be intimidated by a cartoon character from a children’s television show. :sahar02:

Re: We need a name for women haters

^ naheen… this particular character seems *really *angry :hehe:

Re: We need a name for women haters

^ She's the Powerpuff Girls' teacher, Ms. Keane.

And she's not angry. She just sees through the BS. Keeps you on your toes. :D

Re: We need a name for women haters

I'll keep this short

Feminism is an ideology, calling a Muslim women a feminist is the same as calling her a non-believer, a feminist Muslim is an oxymoron. God gave women all the rights they will ever need, and by calling a Muslim a feminist you are basically saying she does not have trust in God, now in my opinion that is one of the biggest insults.

Re: We need a name for women haters

^ No. It means that she will fight for her God-given rights.

That's the term for it. If you really need something else, then why not just use "Woman Hater"?

I don’t agree there is no feminist in Islam, hard line feminism is about eradicating men totally, mainstream feminism is about absolute equality. There is no absolute equality between men and women, men have certain rights over women and women have certain rights over men.
Fighting for God given rights is nothing to do with feminism, it’s just a coincidence (?) that some of the basic God given rights have been adopted by feminists.

Re: We need a name for women haters

@zena_uk

I clearly seem to have offended you. I apologize for calling you a feminist (though I did edit the text a couple of seconds after posting it as it didn't feel right). The fact of the matter is that you called me as someone who is trying to force his own will rather than Allah's commands which was not a polite thing to say. You are NOT a feminist. Period.

Re: We need a name for women haters

Agreed with Sahar.

So basically neither the women or men on this forum using the word feminist understand what feminism is, I give up, it must be a language thing. Go and carry on affiliating yourselves with something you obviously don't understand. Theres a couple of petitions on the net fighting for the rights of lesbian women to adopt, get signing feminists.

It's beggars belief it's like calling yourself a muslim but never having read the Quran.

All I can say is don't call yourself a feminist in the western world, you will be laughed at!
