Oh dear, more intimidation from anti govt. lawyer - even before the verdict has been announced.

I am sure people are familiar with picking locks in Pakistan - more than orther places. :smiley:

‘We’ll lock the SC building’: “If the Supreme Court gives a verdict in favour of Musharraf, we will lock the Supreme Court building,” said Pakistan Bar Council member Ali Ahmed Kurd.

Kurd said lawyers were the greatest power in the country, and would not rest till Musharraf was ousted. He urged lawyers to carry padlocks in their pockets as symbols of resistance.

What is it with these anti-govt lawyers? They go around threatening to burn down the Supreme Court if they vote in favour of Musharraf, and now they want to lock it up! Of course they have even beaten up pro-govt people as well - so much for rule of law and freedom of speech. Criminals!

Back in July the CJ's friend and then President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Munir A. Malik openly threatened that they would burn the Supreme Court down, if it ruled against the CJ. So this latest threat by anti-Musharraf lawyers is not surprising at all.

I agree, thats why we need to encourage criticism of "bad deeds" rather than a person... whoever does bad deed needs to be criticised regardless of the camp they belong to.

Kurd will probably be commended for his services to the legal fraternity by the CJ, just like he has commended Munir Malik - the would be arsonist of the Supreme Court.

Harris Bhai, thanks to President Musharaf, Pakistan now has Freedom of Speech.

The Free Judiciary obviously believes that Kurd is expressing his constitutional right of Freedom of Speech, and that is why they have not said anything, or otherwise it may be because they are indeed scared of being locked up. :D

The CJ usually takes suo moto action on everything that moves, but not so in the case of his supporters who threaten to burn the Supreme Court down or lock up the judges.
