Re: We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf
Captain1 - If you go through Younus's career even at the domestic level, he played in the middle order, mostly #4 or #5. So when he started playing for Pakistan he played at #5 or #6. All the years he played at the domestic level before coming to the Pakistani team, majority of his innings were NOT at #3, so his natural position is not #3. He himself said that when he started playing at #3 it was because he was left with no option because of a strong middle order and plus he wanted to prove himself as a batsmen. So my point is, when he became captain, he could have easily hid behind youngsters as well and start batting at #4 or #5 but he didnt. He lead by example and led from the front. Ponting even opened the innings for the Aussies recently in an ODI because the openers were injured. He could have sent someone else to open too, but he didnt and came out himself. Thats the way a captain SHOULD be leading.
Secondly, the team never looked this pathetic under Younus. Sure, we still didnt win a test series under him but look closely, players were never as dejected as they were under Yousuf. Plus, Younus didnt come out and say ONE person is causing all this, he simply said he has lost control of the team. Go back and see when Younus became captain, he could have easily kicked out Malik at that time but Younus always backed Malik and even said he's like my younger brother. Once again, it contradicts with Yousuf's statement of how Malik is causing all problems...dont others see it if its so obvious?
Thirdly, yaar when did I say Afridi got dropped from the test team? I know he himself said he doesnt want to play, but Yousuf is talking about after the NZ ODI's and when the team was supposed to fly out to Australia and he had a meeting with Inti and talked to Afridi and they all decided something must be done about this 'one' player. My point is, after Yousuf had this talk why would Afridi still want Malik to lead in his absense. If what Yousuf is saying is true, then Malik would be the last person Afridi would want to lead in his absense fearing Malik would try and gang up players against Afridi too.
Lastly, Malik never trash talked against Yousuf before Yousuf started talking crap about him. Obviously, Malik was going to defend himself and he did. Plus, Malik's points did make sense, Yousuf did not, and does not fit in Pakistan's T20 team because of his extremely poor fielding and very orthodox batting.
