We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf

Re: We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf

Captain1 - If you go through Younus's career even at the domestic level, he played in the middle order, mostly #4 or #5. So when he started playing for Pakistan he played at #5 or #6. All the years he played at the domestic level before coming to the Pakistani team, majority of his innings were NOT at #3, so his natural position is not #3. He himself said that when he started playing at #3 it was because he was left with no option because of a strong middle order and plus he wanted to prove himself as a batsmen. So my point is, when he became captain, he could have easily hid behind youngsters as well and start batting at #4 or #5 but he didnt. He lead by example and led from the front. Ponting even opened the innings for the Aussies recently in an ODI because the openers were injured. He could have sent someone else to open too, but he didnt and came out himself. Thats the way a captain SHOULD be leading.

Secondly, the team never looked this pathetic under Younus. Sure, we still didnt win a test series under him but look closely, players were never as dejected as they were under Yousuf. Plus, Younus didnt come out and say ONE person is causing all this, he simply said he has lost control of the team. Go back and see when Younus became captain, he could have easily kicked out Malik at that time but Younus always backed Malik and even said he's like my younger brother. Once again, it contradicts with Yousuf's statement of how Malik is causing all problems...dont others see it if its so obvious?

Thirdly, yaar when did I say Afridi got dropped from the test team? I know he himself said he doesnt want to play, but Yousuf is talking about after the NZ ODI's and when the team was supposed to fly out to Australia and he had a meeting with Inti and talked to Afridi and they all decided something must be done about this 'one' player. My point is, after Yousuf had this talk why would Afridi still want Malik to lead in his absense. If what Yousuf is saying is true, then Malik would be the last person Afridi would want to lead in his absense fearing Malik would try and gang up players against Afridi too.

Lastly, Malik never trash talked against Yousuf before Yousuf started talking crap about him. Obviously, Malik was going to defend himself and he did. Plus, Malik's points did make sense, Yousuf did not, and does not fit in Pakistan's T20 team because of his extremely poor fielding and very orthodox batting.

You can't compare any of our batsmen with Ponting, Ponting is a different class, they can't catch Ponting's dust. Heck they can't compare with Inzi. Not batting at #3 position doesn't mean someone is hiding behind youngsters, the thought behind that is if top order collapses then captain being in middle can stabilise the inning and that is what Inzi did on many occasions. By the way, when did Younis lead by example? :)

bhai mere, you have my support when you complain about Yousuf being jackass and trash-talking his players (read relevant threads), team could've easily won the 2nd test had it not been for the retarded Kamran Akmal... if they had won that game situation would've been very much different from now.

Reason I mentioned Afridi's opting out is per this interview, so I was just crossing him out as one of the possible 'trouble-makers' (as per Yousuf). Yousuf has the ability of hard-hitting, lazy fielding is a ridiculous excuse as he was keeping Kamran in the side, what about Salman Butt? Players like Younis can play in T20 world cup and Yousuf can't? That is hilarious.

Fielding makes a huge difference in any format, especially in T20's. Drop people once like jayasuriya, dilshan, Watson, white, yuvraj, etc and they will take away any chance of winning that u had. Likewise, a brilliant catch or run out of a match winning opposing player can rapidly change the game in your favor.

What most likely Malik had in mind was he can afford to play either yousuf or younus in the playing eleven and he picked Younus. They are similiar batsmen when it comes to style of play but younus has a HUGE advantage over yousuf when it comes to fielding and running between the wickets. Hence even in my view, younus is a much better option for T20 over yousuf. Without a doubt, I would rather have yousuf over younus in tests and ODI's.

Kamran showed his value up the order in the last T20. Malik has always backed akmal because of his batting ability and if they open with him they can play an extra all rounder like Alam or a bowler or batsmen in the lower order. Even though I hate akmal as a keeper, I'd still play him as a specialist batsmen for T20's.

What hard hitting ability does yousuf have? Look at his dismal record in ICL where even medicore players like Rana and Farhat were having a blast with the bat and Yousuf couldn't do anything. Likewise, look at all the domestic T20's yousuf has played u will know EXACTLY why he shoudnt be anywhere near this format.

Re: We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf

^ main point was if you can have players who drop catches (and you acknowledge how important catches are) like Salman Butt, Kamran Akmal then why not players like Yousuf... anyway, I am done spending enough energy on this, we can agree to disagree.

Re: We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf

ok its final Its SHOAIB MALIK. Shoaib Malik has said he will address press on FRIDAY and tell “things” about YOUSUF. Get ready for another dirty episode of Pakistan Cricket.

Re: We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf

^^ Ready like anything.. :)

The drama will begin after Jumah Prayer ???

Re: We have six to seven captains in the team: Yousuf

So, Is that means that Yousaf was mentioning Shoib

If the PCB had any guts, they would drop

Yousef
Younis
Malik
Kamran Akmal
Umar Akmal
Umar Gul

Yousef has been running his mouth for a long time without backing it up with the bat. He was CORRECTLY dropped from the T20 and went and joined ICL for the money before coming running back once the league folded. He has the audacity to bash Malik ? For what?

Younis needs to be dropped for all the dramas he creates. He behaves more like a wannabe beauty queen rather than a professional player.

Malik also deserves to be dropped. He hasnt performed for a very long time and he is also clearly in a league with the Akmal brothers in the team, such groupings should be discouraged and Malik needs to get his act together as a player before he is allowed to make a comeback.

Kamran Akmal has been extra luggage for a very long time...his keeping is pathetic. Even Moin Khan, who was never a natural keeper, did not drop as many catches as Akmal has. To add to that, the indiscipline on his part on making statements that hes gonna play etc....all adds to a nice and long outing from the team for the elder Akmal. Sarfraz Ahmed should have an extended run in the team in all 3 formats now.

Umar Akmal also deserves to be dropped for indiscipline. This is not his mohala team, where if his brother is dropped, he says he wont play. Umar is a great talent but if this kind of indiscipline on his part is allowed to continue just when he is starting his career, then this will be a huge issue for the team in the future. He should be dropped for a full series on the grounds of indiscipline and told exactly why he is out of the team, so he doesent behave like this in the future.

Umar Gul...has not done anything with the ball for over a year now. Bowling well in T20 is all nice, but he is supposed to be a test match bowler which he isent. To add to that, his spat with Aamer and his lack of performance....Gul should be playing domestic cricket for at least a few series.

In an ideal world, all these guys would be dropped, and the Under-19 boys who did well could be brought into the team....we are losing anyway so might as well lose with the under-19 boys...at least they will get better with time and dont play politics - they will try and improve and give 100% on the field which is what the fans want.

With the senile Ijaz Butt in charge though, I dont see any such bold moves happening.
