We have ruled India for 1000 years

But still intelligent people like you bother to comment and waste your time here, but anyway....This thread is not about nationalism or secularism........This thread was started for Muslims from Punjab, Sindh, Bengal, kerala, Bhopal, UP, Bihar, Madras who believe in the theory "We ruled........"

And as per you, these comments are unneccesary and retarded, whihc I totally agree, but how many people on this forum support your views??

I totally agreed with a Central Asian muslim, if he claims to have ruled few parts of India for 1000 years...............but if a bhopali bhompla claims that, then I feel sorry for that retard.

That mentality is because Muslims worldwide see themselves as one Ummah (community)...

For you nationality = geography, state, race, language, ethnicity etc. and other divisive and exclusive factors...

For Muslims nationality = our religion which is universal and welcomes all to its fold.

The Prophet PBUH and his early followers were severely persecuted by their own tribes and own ethnicity so these identities didn't matter to them...

...Our Prophet PBUH taught that all Muslims were one community, one brotherhood and amongst his followers were Arabs, Persians, Greeks, Romans, slaves, rulers...

Even Muslims today do not give much value to these temporal identities which will be of no avail to them in the afterlife but only serve to divide humanity...

...Clanism is human nature and everyone wants to belong but this human nature is beautifully satisifed with the concept of the Ummah which is not exclusive or divisive.

It would be hard for a non-Muslim to unerstand but most Muslims do feel a common bond, a common identity which is really heartwarming.

I have Bengali friends, Gujarati friends, Somalian friends, North African... We don't think of each other as Paki, Indian or Bangladeshi but as Muslims.

When I see soccer players like Samir Nasri lifting his hands to pray on the field I feel this bond of brotherhood even though we have nothing in common in terms of lineage or descent...

^ Nicely worded cound’t have put it better myself hats off to ya pal… :aliyish:

Re: We have ruled India for 1000 years

Hhmm..that was exactly what i thought when in Khuda Key Liye, Shaan says to that firangan "We ruled India for xyz years."
technically, his Punjabi ancestors were ruled by the co-called foreigners too, even after they converted. and even then, they didnt that the notion that we are ruling Hindustan.

anyways, this always has been India's plus point to accept outside influences. modern India wouldnt be what it is if not those foreign Muslim invaders, even though a few of them were pucca morons.
and same could be said for the Hindu/Sikh/Buddhist/Jain/Zoroastrian/Christian rulers too.

and am yet to come across any Indian Muslim saying "we ruled India for 1000 years."

Humm... you cannot imagine why?

Maybe 60+ years of being in a secular country has made them less prone to religion based boasting?

Re: We have ruled India for 1000 years

Indian Muslims fear being labelled desh drohi at the drop of a hat and they have to keep proving their loyalty at every step, but despite their tail-wagging you still consider them less Indian because to you Hinduism=Original Indian Religion and Islam = Foreign Malechi Religion!

If a Punjabi Indian can boast about the achievements of a Tamil Indian then a Punjabi/Gujarati Muslim can boast about the achievements of a Kurdish Muslim.

For you nation/ummah is based on a common state, a piece of land carved out by the British, a few (mostly foreign) past empires, a name (India/Hind) given to you by foreigners...

.. Similarly for Muslims ummah/nation is based on common religion.

Just answer one question in yes or no

AR Rahman ..to his father..."We have ruled you for 1000 years"

Do you agree with AR Rahman???

Just answer in yes or no.

Bharat is for Bhartiya's just because some bharatiya's changed the way they worship God does not make them less Bharatya's....

FYI word Bharat is thousands of years old used Before Chirst was born and even to till date.

Hind/Hindustan/india are foreign names adopted by Bhartiya's just like they adopted culture and religion from across the globe.

For people like you, history started after Prophet Muhammad PBUH was born....you guys reject history before that.....just like the Taliblots who blasted Bhamiyan statues of Buddha

Bhaarat, Hind or India.. It is just a geographical name, not a nation-state in the true sense.

  1. Islam did not start with the Prophet Muhammed PBUH. God sent many "Islam's" since the beginning of mankind, the Islam of Prophet Muhammed PBUH is the last and universal one whilst the ones before it were only meant for certain regions and times.

  2. We don't reject history but we don't obsess with it either. Greeks were once Pagan now they are Christian... Some of our ancestors might have been Hindu, others Zoroastrian, others Buddhist but we are Muslims today and forever more.

Who the heck is AR Rahman?

Re: We have ruled India for 1000 years

Well..ok ..

His Mom, sister and he converted to islam, when he was 23…but still his cousins, uncles are hindus…GV prakash kumar music composer is nephew of AR rahman

Ok thanks. :)

I've already said that it's retarded to say that to someone just to debase and degrade them...

..But all Muslims are one ummah (nation)...

However Islam teaches us to maintain relationships, even with our non-Muslim relatives, severing relationships is a sin, we have to honour our parents even if they are Non-Muslim, and we should obey them except when they tell us to disobey Allah...

Re: We have ruled India for 1000 years

man.. what i dont get about you people is, even the most lafangay amongst you turn into pious mullahs at the drop of a hat, and back to luchay in 5 mins when it suits them. and everyone else plays along.

if all muslims are one ummah, why do they need visas to visit each others countries? or is this unity only applicable when it comes to boasting about things you can’t claim otherwise?

You're functioning under the flawed assumption that these Central Asians came to India, ruled the country for centuries, imported an entire Central Asian/Middle Eastern elite to administer over their empires, and then just magically disappeared when the British arrived.

In reality, that Central Asian ruling class left behind (by this point) millions of descendants in Pakistan and India. I know in India, the descendants of low-caste Hindu converts have formed social/political organizations, and claim to represent 75-80% of the Muslim community. Which means that 25% of Indian Muslims, or 30-40 million people, are in fact from Central Asian/Middle Eastern backgrounds (with a handful from upper-caste Hindu backgrounds thrown in as well).

Muslims who came from central asia did not come in millions, 25% is a very large number and is an incorrect index.

Kashmir valley is a typical example....kashmir was ruled by foreign muslims and many muslims from central asia visited valley and stayed over there.
Foreign muslims who continued to stay in Kashmir is very less. Its absolutely not in double digits, just becoz you have converted to islam and adopted "Khan" or "durrani"as surname does not mean you are a muslim from central asia

Please exercise some common sense. Populations grow significantly over generations; 800 years is a long time for a population to dramatically expand. Also, if you actually go back and bother reading actual historical sources rather than just making baseless conjecture, you'll realize that there was actually a fairly significant stream of Muslim immigrants to the Subcontinent for centuries. Remember, during its heyday, Mughal India was the world's wealthiest state - salaries and jagirs were very lucrative, and Middle Eastern/Central Asian noblemen, scholars, and artists were given clear preference in Muslim courts throughout South Asia. At the height of Mughal dynasty, immigration to India from Iran was so rapid that some Iranians (somewhat hyperbolically) feared that the entire Iranian aristocracy would end up leaving for India.

It's rather evident that you don't know what you're talking about. First of all, Kashmir is actually a very poor example. Compared to the rest of South Asia, Kashmir has a relatively lengthy history of self-rule. For most of its history of Muslim rule, Kashmir was ruled by native Kashmiris/Ladakhis who had converted to Islam under the influence of Central Asian & Iranian Sufis. And second, Muslims claiming foreign descent (referred to as "khandaani" families in local parlance) are a significant portion of the Kashmiri Muslim population

Re: We have ruled India for 1000 years

may be you are one of those so called elite khandhani migrants from central asia.....before richen shah kashmir was invaded by Afgan muslims......lets stick to the topic....

As I have said earlier...I have no issues with Afghans who claim to rule India but when some punjabi villager from pind dudu chak zila narowal claims that, it is makes non sense.

And I would contend that some random Afghan whose ancestors stayed put in their village in Afghanistan and never had anything to do with India has far less of claim in this situation than the Punjab/Bhopal/UP/Bihar/whatever-based descendants of Afghani immigrants to the Subcontinent.
