aside from someone's pesonal reverence to the King of KSA as the ruler of the country which has islam's tw most important sites, is the king of KSA strategically as important as the president of China?

I dont know. KSA has been a friend, but is it as important as China in terms of impact...

Starting from 1950s Pakistan and China stood by each other in all regional and internation forums. Pakistan strongly campaigned at the UNO for China's right of being permanent member at security council. China got the seat in 1961. China supported Pakistan in 1965 and 1971 wars. Pakistan acted as facilitator when Henery Kissinger made two secret trips to china via Pakistan to meet his counterpart in china. This paved way for historical meeting of Chairman Mao and US president Richard Nixon. Which brought China out of international isolation and lifting of many embargoes.
Korakoram Highway is an epitome of Engineering excellence and show the depth of ongoing co-operation between the two friendly countries. China has provided immense help in defense and industrial Sector. Chashma nuclear power plant was provided by china to Pakistan. And We hope this co-operation will continue in future as well.

Pakistan sees Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iran , Turkey and U.A.E as Brotherly Islamic counrties and all time friends.

Funny thing, no one noticed I made a mistake in my earlier post.

Just recently i came to know something quite amusing, well atleast for me.

Thats about China and its relationship with United Nation.

It was quite surprising for me to find out that Republic of China was a founding member of UNO. And a permanent member of Security council just like USA, UK, USSR, France....

But wait ^ That China was not this china we all know about. It was actually Taiwan.

Now That tiny little country Taiwan was founding member of UNO !!! :)

Heres how the story goes. There were two countries Peoples Republic of China ( Real China) and Republic of China (Taiwan /Chineese Taipae) At the time of of UN inception, they made ROC as the member and considered it China. Later in 1948 after independence of China(PRC) They (world powers) found out that it is Evil communist regime which should not be supported at all. So they continued with ROC as representative of Whole China and De facto Government.

As china was a weak country in every respect. Its founder and govt was busy in building the society and nation. A decade passed and still No one recognised the Real China, except a handful of countries. In 1962/63 war broke out between India and China on border dispute. At that time China had an upperhand in battlefield but was completely isolated in diplomatic circles.

At that time Pakistan strongly supported China's postition in UNO. Zulfiqar Ali bhutto, Then Foreign minister of Pakistan, Made very powerful speeches at UN and made the world realize that they are at fualt for not recognising Real china even after a decade of it sound existence, and what they believe is representative of China is not China at all, but a Puppet backed by Capatalist forces to sideline the real country

He made his voice heard and then countries realised their mistake. The world started recognising Peoples Republic of China and It won its seat in security council1971. And ROC was expelled from UN, and it is not a member now.

Btw, in 1960s Pakistan was progressing very rapidly and was considered a raging Asian Tiger
