Our parents and siblings knew the same day we did (around 4-5 weeks).
I told a couple close friends at about 6 weeks (the first time I threw up).
I told my boss at work so he could prep at around 8-9 weeks.
I wanted to wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone else. But around 6-7 weeks we had a family gathering. Ammi asked if she could tell my mamoons, mumanis, and cousins. I said no. She turned around and told everyone right then and there (and to make it worse she used the whole "goodnews" phrase!). ARGH I was so angry. She still does not understand why I was so upset.

I am sure your mom wanted to be the one to break the news, especially to her side of the family.
you mean the guy who waited till the baby was born? I am sure the parents must be mad at him. if my child did that, I would be furious. Not because of he/she not sharing the good news on time but the fact that anything could go wrong during those nine months and if parents know, they could take care of things, fly down to him or something like that
My mom did the exaccct same thing, she told me not to tell anyone about the gender and herself told every single person she talked to…the whole world knew in a matter of days, and when I complained she said I’m being weird for getting mad over such a petty issue…righttttt mom!! lol
As for breaking the news, I told my parents and his parents the same time we found out…and everyone else by the time I was 7-8 weeks…
For 2nd time though, I wont be sharing the gender with anyone…or so I hope…
We told our parents the same day we found out. I told my sister the next day Waited until around 10 weeks to tell everyone else (friends, close family). Told my boss around 10 weeks and then co-workers around 12.
We decided not to find out - though Its driving me crazy cause I'm so curious
