Sy Hersh broke news lately that US has significantly escalated large scale operations in Iran. Last year $ 400 million dollars worth of funding was approved to support special ops inside iran. This includes cross border attacks (from inside Iraq), supporting splinter groups, and inducing general chaos in Iran to give the idea that the regime is falling.

He says that Bush/Cheney are convinced they need to attack Iran before the end of their term in order to end their nuclear programme. Also it is the democrats that approved this $400 million funding which the president is required to disclose to the top democrat leaders.
Did you hear is interview on NPR today? He was saying that if Obama were to win, Bush would attack Iran before leaving office because he doesen’t think that the dems would have the ‘courage’ to do it. If McCain were to win, Bush might hold off since he would be thinking that McCain might go through with it anyway. Sounds like something Hitler would do.
