Looks like Pak finally made its way to the WC. Even with a dismal opening lineup Pak is always in with a chance. On a flat deck we can beat any team with our bowling. Here is my line up for the WC.

What is your line up for the world cup? I really think Imad Wasim can make a difference and finish matches with Sarfraz for us. Perhaps even experiment with him opening if Sharjeel fails.

I'll include Hafeez at one down (though don't have much expectations from him) and play with six bowlers, your team has seven bowlers.

I dont see the need of three fast bowlers unless its bouncy wicket which it wouldnt be.. so there can be Nawaz instead of WAhab

Nawaz in place of Anwar Ali, as he will get severe hammering on those batting pitches. Wahab at least can generate some good pace, so he should be in the side.

And Afridi should open with Sharjeel.

Hafeez or Ahmed Shahzad can be traded since neither one is a good opener or a match winner. Wahab can be traded with AA to make room for Nawaz.

T20 anyone can go for runs. Having bowling options is the key since that is our strength. Adding more B class openers is not the right strategy IMO. 20/2 or 20/3 with Hafeez giving it away - still has Sarfraz and Malik coming in early. Might as well send them one down and two down.

Afridi opening is x factor. I like it. Get rid of ahmed shahzad then and bring hafeez one down.

Here's a better combination:

Sharjeel Khan (better than Hafeez)
Ahmed Shahzad
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Umar Akmal
Shoaib Malik
S. Afridi
M. Nawaz
Imad Wasim
Wahab Riaz
M. Amir
M. Irfan

So 3 fast bowlers, 4 allrounders and 4 specialist batsmen. This gives us a much better team, and allows Imad and Nawaz the chances to play in big matches alongwith so-called "seniors". How many chances re we going to give to professor who has been pretty ordinary after bowling ban. Yes he was valuable when he could bowl but not as a batting-only person. Anwar Ali gives so many goddamn free balls that its like giving away the match. Even minnows can hit 6's on his bowling. I'd prefer Sohail Khan bowler over him anyway.

Losers like Anwar Ali, Hafeez etc can warm up the benches with Waqar and Mushtaq

In the first game at least my team would be

3. Mohammad Hafeez
4. Shoaib Malik
5. Umar Akmal
6. Sarfaraz Ahmad
7. Imad Wasim
8. Shahid Afridi
9. Mohammad Amir
10. Wahab Riaz
11. Mohammad Irfan

Besides Afridi, I think Malik & Imad would be effective on these pitches and we have three bowlers with good pace as well. In this line up, atleast on paper we bat as deep as no. 8 and Wahab & Amir can swing their bats as well.
