WC 2003 - Super Six Stage.

Who won the test series by the marign of 2-0 ?

Who won the test series by the margin of 2-0 ?

So are you blaming the pitches for India’s misery, just because they were made for fast bowlers.
So then I can make a ridiculous excuse like yours, how the pitches at Centurion were made for batsman and thats why our team lost.

No, That's not your point, Actually you dont have a point. Check the following :-

How many Indians made 50+ scores in NZ test series - 2
How many kiwis made 50+ scores in NZ test series - 1

How many Indians scored 100+ runs in test series - 2
How many Kiwis scored 100+ runs in test series - 1

To talk about the NZ tour and World Cup games in the same breath is utter stupidity. NZ pitches were tailor made for fast bowlers, SA pitches are normal.

BTW - My point is Both NZ and India have strong batting line ups and it's a 50:50 game.

How many NZL players have scored more then 7000 ODI runs??
How many NZL players have been boasted in media as the best batsmen? None...

The Fact is, Indians did not play well there coz they were short of confidence and Newzealanders didnt play well coz they were short of that class that Indians often exhibit.

The point was, that confidnce is a MAJOR factor in cricket. Why teams like Australia is doing so well. not because they are super-humanly talented but Because they are confident that they can win from any situation. Similarly i would say Indian batsmen would feel that they can sscore agaisnt anyteam right now.

There is a hell lot of difference between NZL batting and Indian battting but Yes Newzealand is a better all round team. If they dont put those skills together, they will be out of the worldcup after this match.

Did I blame the pitch for Indian loss ?? No All I said that NZ didn’t destroy the Indian batsmen confidence, its the pitches which were bad and it was evident on both sides’ batting. India batted better than Kiwis.

About the Centurion pitch - Yeah it was a batting beauty but you also had the world’s best batting line up. So against England it was the TOSS and against India it was the PITCH :hehe: and we already know against Zimbabwe it was the Rain otherwise tumhari team ne to Zimbabwe ko 60 run pe all out kar hi dena tha (as suggested by some members) :rotfl: .

That's what I have been telling, even you say it.

If they are still a better team now in a condition which is more ideal for batsmen then imagine their strengh when the conditions were ideal for their bowlers . That means they were much better regardless of the reputation.

Yeah and one more thing, Dont go on reputation - We see many batsmen who have scored 7000+ runs are out of the world cup now and they struggled to open their accounts on the batting friendly pitches of SA.

If the pitches were so bad, then why didn’t India beat New Zealand in the 2 test, did the pitch only do the magic when the Indian batsman were on the crease. If India batted better than the Kiwis then why didn’t they win the test series.
In the first test India scored 161 all out and 121 all out.
New Zealand scored 247 all out and 36 no outs.
If my math is correct, New Zealand scored more runs and thus they batted way better and won the match by 10 wickets.

In the second test India scored 99 all out and 154 all out.
New Zealand scored 94 all out and 160/6.
If my math is correct New Zealand scored more run and thus they batted better and won the match by 4 wickets.

And the same world’s best batting lineup were embarassed miserably in the 2 test mentioned above, where was the best batting lineup then.

Ask you Bangali dada, even he complained about the day night conditions, we are not the only one making excuses. We all know Pakistan would have thrashed Zimbabwe like always unlike some other team.

sorry Ehsan bhai, you sure can delete my posts. But you can notice who likes to argue for time pass or whatever. I read your post before posting my last comment. Sorry, as you wish :)

Sorry Ehsan bhai!

....and what can I say? I mean however much trouble it seems that Australia are in they always seem to have somebody to play them through the innings. Another great performance from to duo of 9 days back (Michael Bevan and Andy Bichel) to see Australia to 200 - it was shame that they didn't make it to the 100 partnership.

As for New Zealand well they batted awfully - they were no match for Australia at the end of the day and if they do make it to the final and play again like they did today the game will be finished even quicker than the Pakistan VS Australia game in the 1999 World Cup final!

Though having said all of that Shane Bond did well to get 6 Wickets for just 23 runs - the best ever figures for a New Zealander in Limited Overs Cricket.

Aussies, at the moment, will be unbeaten in this World Cup tournament. Just hand over World Cup to them!

Australia's Matthew Hayden struggles to cope with the pace of New Zealand's Shane Bond and makes just one run

*Bond is on fire as he captures another wicket to leave Australia reeling on 31-3 in only the ninth over *

Bond comprehensively bowls Ian Harvey to leave Australia in deep trouble on 84-7, but they start to rally and pass 150

*Bichel's superb unbeaten knock of 64 helps Australia reach a total of 208-9 that seemed unlikely after their disastrous start *

*Australia hit back when Brett Lee dismisses Fleming, but New Zealand contribute to their own downfall with some poor shots *

*McGrath causes more problems four overs later, removing Scott Styris lbw to leave New Zealand stumbling on 33-3 *

*Lee rattles through the New Zealand tail to wrap up a record 14th consecutive World Cup win for Australia by 96 runs *

Just goes to prove what I have been saying all along. This tournament is all about who comes second, not first.

This is probably the best summary I have come across about the world cup.

..... unless you believe in miracles

....and I do

Now wouldn't it be fun if the Kenya match gets rained out!

Why?

Because a washed game I understand will give them the precious 2 points to push into semis

So you want them in the semis so India can easily reach the final?

Yup! I am scared of law of averages catching up with us.

why law of averages doesn't aply to Kangaroos ? If u have a good team, it does not matter. And I think, the way India is playing these days , there is no stopping till final! fingers crossed; lets see wut happens !

ZIM 131/9 - 41.3 overs

Come on Kenya — all the way to final to face the Aussies there. :k:

Zim 133-all out (44.1) R (B) 4's 6's

C Wishart c Otieno b M Suji 5

A Campbell lbw b M Suji 7
A Flower b Odoyo 63
G Flower c Otieno b M Suji 7
T Taibu c Otieno b C Obuya 3
D Ebrahim st Otieno b C Obuya 13
A Blignaut run out (Otieno) 4
H Streak c Shah b C Obuya 0
D Marillier b Tikolo 21
H Olonga c Odumbe b Tikolo 3
D Hondo not out 0

Total : 133-all out (44.1)

M Suji 8 2 19 3 0 1

T Odoyo 10 0 43 1 2 1

Now kenya is having really good chance of beating zim.
