**
The points brought forward by each team :

Australia: 12
Kenya: 10
India: 8
SL: 7 1/2
NZ: 4
Zimbabwe: 3 1/2**

Kenya is in a strong position and if they win just one match in the super sixes they will be in the semis. Makes a bit of a mockery of the tournament.

Super Sixes

Teams NRR Points
Aus +2.0 12
Ken -0.7 10
Ind +1.1 8
SL +1.2 7.5
NZ +1.0 4
Zim +0.5 3.5

Assumptions:
Aus wins all three AUS 24
Ken loses all three Ken 10
*Ind d Ken, SL & loses to NZ * Ind 16
*SL d Zim * SL 11.5
*NZ d Ind, Zim & loses to Aus * NZ 12
*Zim only beats Kenya * Zim 7.5

  1. Aus
  2. Ind
  3. NZ
  4. SL

Aus vs SL
Ind vs NZ

Aus vs (Winner of Ind/NZ)

why are the points in "fractions"? because of defeating "non-super six" teams? how is that calculated?

No Results, like today's Pakistan V Zimbabwe.

A win in pool match lets you carry 4 (if the defeated team is in Super Sixes) or 1 point (if the defeated team did not qualify). Thus a draw or No Result enables a team to carry half of that ONE point. SL carried half point from their draw against the Proteas.

Thanks FG :)

whoever wins its fine... but NOT INDIA!

Semi Finals:

Australia VS. NZ

Srilanka VS. IND

Final:

Aus VS. Sri

Australia will win the world cup again.

Australia will definitly win it now, the only 2 teams who had a chance of beating the Aussies are out, so its walk in the park for them.
but its a huge blow for them that they lost Jason Gillesppie after losing Warne, but they will still win it.

:stuck_out_tongue: Leaving India ..wait till the finals :nono:

Kenya just have to win one game and they are through to Semi-Finals. Their first two matches against India and Australia respectively are Day and Night matches so I will watch out if they win the toss and elected to bat. :)

If they play Australia in a D/N match and bat first, they will still lose, and if they play India in a D/N match and bat first and put a reasonable total on board then they can win it. Afterall we all saw what Nehra did to the English batsman and Kenya have numerous bowlers with class of Nehra to win the match for them.

What a World Cup... In super sixes,

we have two Asian teams... but no Pakistan
we have two African teams ... but no South Africa
we have no West Indies and no baba-e-cricket (England) either.

I am actually rooting for our Asian tigers to win the cup back to Asia. Its been in Australia for four years, and now its Asia's turn again.

1983: Asia
1987: Australia
1992: Asia
1996: Asia
1999: Aus
2003: Asia

Both India and Sri Lanka are capable of defeating Australia on any given day. I don't have much hopes for Kenya and Zimbabwe to go all the way. New Zealand... well, they were not terribly impressive, but who knows. They usually have a few tricks up their sleeve.

I cannot believe Kenya got through but South Africa, Pakistan, W.Indies got eliminated! And England too! Wouldn't it be something if Kenya ends up winning the world cup!!!

It was sad :frowning: not seeing Pakistan getting any further in this world cup tournament. But then again, its ONLY a game! you win. you loose. It happens!

Im glad England is out! and I hope that Sri Lanka wins back the WC title for Asia.

:jhanda:

I hope Kenya or ZIM lifts the trophy otherwise I would go for NZ :k:

Kenya all the way!!! Wesay right now its seems like an easy walk through for the Aussies…

I wouldnt say an easy walk through for Australia,

India and sri lanka are more than capable of delivering on their day.

who knows whether the explosive batting of the Sri lankans will kick into action and what can you say about tendulkar? the guy is in good form and can win a match on his own.

Kenya need only one win to reach semis, but I doubt they will win any. They are playing Ind, SL, Zimb. So I think Kenya is out.

...

yo, they r playing India, Zimb and Australia..how cna they play Sri Lankans, when both of them r in the same group..
