This is a half-hearted centuries old attempt to pacify Waziri militants. Even after the induciton of Waziri levies (para military force) they will continue to suffer under the draconian FCR (Frontier Crime Regulations). It is time to free these patriot Pushtoons from the yoke of Maliks and Sardars. Give them their Khattak province (or bring them under Peshawar control).

Levies will be inducted in Waziristan, says Sherpao
ISLAMABAD: A Levies force will inducted in North and South Waziristan as part of the government’s efforts to further improve the law and order situation there, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Wednesday.
Sherpao said the recruitment of the planned Levies force would start soon. The government has also started a number of development projects in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas for the people’s socio economic uplift. “It was decided during a recent meeting with US authorities that Americans will assist in the capacity-building of Levies and help with training as well as extend assistance towards development activities in the fields of education and health in FATA,” he added.
The interior minister said the government’s efforts in tackling terrorism and measures taken to combat narcotics trafficking were highly appreciated in Washington. He said the issue of cyber crime and protection of intellectual property rights were also discussed during the meeting of the joint working group. APP
