Having said that, there are proofs that Prophet recited, or asked sahaba to recite, or approved of sahaba’s action of reciting some part of Quran to take care of some specific Hajat. Like its proven by hadees that Sura-e-Fateha can be recited for someone who is sick and seeking health.

it its in hadees…its unquestionable off course…but the point was where did the specific repetitions/numbers came from??

Its a whole subject within the sufi/peeri/mureedi business…since the oliyaa are some sort of diviine beings…they possess special magical powers
