A spouse should not refuse without reasons. and realistically no one refuses without reason… It is the duty of both to understand the reasons (if any) and try to solve the problem amicably.

Thanks for sharing...But I read that the meaning where people have concluded thAt hitting is permissable has been misinterpretted and thus most if not all people think that it means that the man is allowed to hit the woman....

how many muslims... desi's (in particular) do you know seek medical help for situations like this?....it is such a taboo to discuss such things ...unfortunately. So what is the man suppose to do? go have an extra-marital affair?

I am just looking at both sides....

i agree though...many men do think women arent sleeping with them just to spite them. Sometimes it may be true..other times there may be more to it. However if they are doing it to spite them....then the "toothbrush" comes in handy. Otherwise...extra-marital affair and/or a second wife it is...and this goes both ways.

Isn't it unfortunate that things boil down to this level? There definitely needs to be more awareness and openness to talk about sexual health and sexualy psychology. Pakistani men need to hear certain things from us women.

But getting back to the topic, it’s easier said than done for most husbands but I sincerely believe if you put your complete trust in Allah (SWT) and pray to be an honest, faithful, devote etc. husband you eventually be one if you do your part as well.

besides, it's amazing how, so many here are trying to justify this as being some sort of last resort. It's amazing plus scary.

If she's not interested in making love to you, there's obviously some areas you need to look into and work on. If she's letting you have sex after some 'light beating,' she's probably doing that with a certain loathing or detachment even greater than what it was before.
