A long time ago, i tried making mille feuille (from scratch) for him… i knew it’s one of his favourites so i thought i’d try and impress him with my pseudo-culinary pastry skills…
He came home, and found me covered in flour, sneezing incessantly from all the flour i had inhaled… The end result was pretty good though…
Moral of the story: If it’s too complex, buy it in. That is what i do now.
Else, you will eat what i make and dammit you will like it.
I think a man does enjoy well cooked meals and not some leftovers served over and over again or some innovations that leave you guessing…men like predictable filling meals.
My husband loves channey ki daal gosht and pulao biryani. I make both things at least once in a couple of weeks… I think
Pulao biryani is made by boiling the meat with spices, ginger garlic, and then cooking rice separately until done 3/4. Then you layer rice and meat, sprinkle with fried onions and dum karo it.
So it's sort of a mix between pulao and biryani...see Shan pulao biryani mix. It's truly amazing.
I think when they say that "way to man's heart is through his stomach" they might be right. Have you seen all the heart problems our men have because of the Nihaaris and Qormas they eat every day.
Hubby likes everything that I cook. He is particularly fond of Chinese food & Chicken Biryani with boneless chicken strips though. He never asks me to cook anything & I kinda don't like that about him. He'll eat whatever you put in front of him.
I try to make it at least every 2,3 weeks.
Tried to surprise him by not giving him lunch one day & making Chinese food & taking it to his work. Turned out he had already left to go eat.
Recently he did farmaish of Balti Gosht (he never ever does farmaish) Going to surprise him with that.
hubby loves my biryani, nihari and anything mughlai......
apparently I suck at making daal.......what am I supposed to do if the only daal they have eaten is khatti masoor ki daal.
Lets assume married ladies that its true (although I have serious reservations about this).
Why do you have serious reservations? I am curious considering 99% of desis believe this statement (that in order for a man to love and treat his wife nicely and with love, she should be cooking really amazing food).

I am not a chatoraa guy and I am desi. I know many guys who love a well cooked meal but that is not the only reason they love their wives.
my sis is really chitori, and i recently developed this obsession of cooking new things and then photograph them.
my parents also love to eat what every new things i make, especially my mother. my younger bro also love to eat these chat-patti food i make (with the assistance of my sis and ami).
my other broz care less cuz they have finances and they can eat anything and anywhere outside. and i think they also demand less from their wives.
my hubby likes chinese, haleem, biryani alot some more dishes too so i do make them once in a week some time biryani some time haleem,o yeah he like home made shawarmas too ....aa lot :) and now i do make different dishes ..so every day he is in search that ajj kya naya bana hay :) lol
and lastly after meal some sweet dish too may be sheerkhurma,or any thing but he prefer halwa a lot..
