Waxing & the PAIN!!!!!!!!!

I literally cry when getting my underarms/underlegs waxed. Is there any way it can be made pain free or with minimal pain? Any gel, lotion, medicine to make it better?

Re: Waxing & the PAIN!!!

Emla numbing cream?

I use it for injections cos I’m a total wimp :sid:

Dr. Numb is another one..

Re: Waxing & the PAIN!!!!!!!!!

My old boss used to take a couple of painkillers before she went for her waxing appointments! I've never tried it personally, but I'm not overly keen on popping pills when it's not really necessary.
I've also read that there are certain times of the month depending on your hormones which make it more or less painful...let me try and find a link...

Take it like a man pet!

Waxing doesnt actually hurt at all.

Try electrolysis. That hurts :(

Re: Waxing & the PAIN!!!!!!!!!

Are you new to waxing? The pain does get better with time.

Re: Waxing & the PAIN!!!!!!!!!

pain does get better! Ive never found my underarms painful and i do them myself! I find my upper lip more sensitive than anything! ask me which one id prefer to wax and i'll say underarms every time! Try exfoliating before you go as well! I've read that somewhere!

Re: Waxing & the PAIN!!!!!!!!!

Where do you have it done? If you're outside Pakistan, don't go to a desi salon. I generally find they use cheap hot wax and their people aren't as properly trained.

You will need to shell out but a salon where the aestheticians are properly trained to do these areas and use high quality waxes, such as cream wax that has a lower operating temperature which makes it more comfortable, or hard wax that doesn't pull at the skin, really helps.

You can use a topical numbing cream like EMLA but if you're using hot waxes, you need to be careful and test the temperature first because you won't feel anything on the area... but I would only recommend this if you are getting waxed at a proper place.

If you're doing it at home... well not much you can do except improve your technique!

Yeah, I think this is true.. My hairdresser was also telling me to avoid getting my roots done when I'm on as I'd be more sensitive..
