What is the general range?
My sis got half legs, full arms with under arams waxed in chicago and the lady charged her $200. Is it really that expensive?
PS: she is going to chicago again for a bit longer period, so she has bought an epilator, saying she cannot afford to pay $200 for waxing every month.

Well I dunno about the US but my salon which is a fairly central location (london) would charge less than £50 for all that - they are very good and use some really effective waxes. An American lady who had moved to London was asking for rec's on yelp after being disappointed in London a few times. I suggested my place and she's just reviewed it with a full 5 stars.
I can't imagine the US being vastly different, it's just a matter of finding a good place.

Where in Chicago did she get it done? If she went on to Devon its much cheaper. It's usually $20 for full arms, $5 for underarms. I dont know how much it should be for half legs but I think its $40 for full legs but Ive never gotten them waxed there.

At spas or those nail places it ranges from $50-$70 for full legs. Desi ladies who work at home charge around $45-$50.

OMG too xpensive n u guys pay for nothing i mean u mst learn how to use wax n it is so easy to do...i also got it done wen i was in pak but here in europe i started to do it myself n now after 4 years im expert in waxing...n it takes only 30 min for legs n both arms...just try n save ur money..

She got it done from somewhere in Illinois and the staff there was indian. The indian lady told her that rates in US are generally very high. And what she is charging is normal. I think she charged her more, rather robbed my sis, knowing that my sis was new there. you think its a possibility?

That sounds very expensive. Waxing the areas you mentioned is not hard. I can even wax my armpits myself and the hair comes out so smooth.
I choose not to wax arms and legs because it is messy and takes long, so I stick to epilating.

I second one of the other opinions though. Waxing is not something I would have regularly been prepared to pay for when you can do it at home with some practice and is also far more convenient.
I invested in a wax heater and professional waxes, both regular warm wax and hard wax and did all my own waxing.

Lol... desi salons can take so much advantage of you sometimes! My sister lives in Aurora and she found this lady who is trained, but does not yet have her own salon. She works out of her home and also comes over to my sister's house if my sister asks her to. She only charges my sister about $25-$30 for facials and uses good products too. She charges about $5-$10 for lips eyebrows threading.
Find someone like that and save money! lol

I was in chicago recently around the devon area and went in to a salon and paid $6.00 for waxing around the cheek bones and she charges $5.00 for eyebrow threading. I am surprised with that price. I know some salons here in michigan do charge around 50$ for full legs so she may have gone in to a very expensive salon. This particular salon on devon street was right infront of khan BBQ and it was pretty busy..
