I usually go for waxing, but then on the odd occasion I break out in pimples (if its a stupid salon). Threading seems like such a long process. Which do you guys prefer?
Prefer waxing cos it tends to keep my brows thick...however, everyone says its horrible for ur skin...wrinkles/saggy skin appears faster cos of waxibg
Waxing or Threading?
I've been doing waxing for 2 years and recently started to thread them and it hurts so bad :(
Re: Waxing or Threading?
threading for brows and lip area, waxing for the sideburns.
Waxing or Threading?
Waxing for eyebrows and upper lip...no breakouts or sagging/wrinkles problems ever
Re: Waxing or Threading?
On a scale of 1 to 10 how painful is threading?
Re: Waxing or Threading?
The first time it will be painful esp if your eyebrows are not waxed or threaded but if you go before the re growth is too bad, it won't hurt at all, esp in the eyebrow area. The pain factor varies from threader to threader too.
Re: Waxing or Threading?
I prefer threading my eyebrows b/c it more cleaner. It can be painful if you’re not used to it. If the pain is too bad, just take a Advil or Tylenol 30 minutes or so before going to salon.
For the rest of my face I use Nair b/c threading breaks me out. ![]()
Re: Waxing or Threading?
I get my face waxed but for eyebrows l always prefer threading because thread shapes better. I dont really like the finish of waxed brows.

Super duper fluper painful.

Re: Waxing or Threading?
Whoa calm down bro, I was just answering your question. Just trying to help.
Threading hurts a lot, but then again, everyone has a different treshold of pain. I think threading hurts super duper fluper much. But you might find it less painful. You will have to let it done to see whether it suits you or not. Do share your experience here.
P.S. do clean your face before threading and pull your skin tight while threading (it hurts less and prevents wounds).

Re: Waxing or Threading?
i thread all my facial hair myself and get someone else to thread my eyebrows. On the face like upper lip, cheek area, I apply a thin layer of vaseline before threading and it really helps lessen the pain as the thread glides over the skin more smoothly. i find it also helps prevent any breakouts (maybe because it acts as a barrier to the skin?) its important to lightly rinse your face after from the vaseline and oils that come out to avoid clogging the pores.
I've tried waxing before and it definitely hurts more. Also, as someone mentioned already, the "look" of the eyebrows is not as natural. It also tugs at your skin and for me, caused a lot of breakouts!
I'm all for threading :)
Re: Waxing or Threading?
Accordimg tp me, Waxing is very painful process but it gives long time result as compare to threading.
Re: Waxing or Threading?
eyebrows threading and upper lip and sideburns waxing. its much quicker and therefore less painful.
Re: Waxing or Threading?
Fruit wax, it doesn't cause acne
Re: Waxing or Threading?
I like the neat and precise and defined look threading gives to the brows.

I'd threaded my moustache before so I didn't think threading my eyebrows would be a big deal. I had it done by the MUA at my wedding for the first time ever. I was shocked by how painful it was. Like literally tears were pouring down my face, I couldn't even stop them, it was my body's automatic reaction to the pain. After that day I have never touched my eyebrows again, the pain is still a distinct memory. Never again.
Re: Waxing or Threading?
^Thanks for the reply, there's no way I'd be able to handle the pain then.. My pain threshold isn't very high..
Re: Waxing or Threading?
^Neither is mine. Took me a while to get over injections, so that tells you I've a low threshold, but Alhumdolillah I find neither threading nor waxing painful. I wax my underarms myself. If I can do it, so can you. Give threading a shot. I think it also depends on who is doing the threading, some have a more gentler hand than others.
