Get it professionally done first time around. Don't take a risk. Afterwards, ice that area, as it can get ridiculously swollen. Oh and take a tylenol before you go. it can hurt.

I agreed one should get it done professionally if you are not good at it. don't even try a raw hand on you face either by waxing or threading. its the same either you wax or thread your face except who has senctive skin should get threaded only wax the sides if you feel the pain too much (ideal if the sides hair a long)

ouch....it sounds painful threading the lip as in sewing the lip to where........:D
sometimes it is painful if you don't know the technic of threading sometime your face can get peel of or if the hair is broken by threading the regrowth is a lot thicker just like shaving. its just a preferance of what one like to get done (either wax or thread)

why is waxing the face bad? I always felt threading can be time consuming.....
waxing face is not bad except one has to know the skin type in order to get waxed, it true threading is time consuming, if skin is very senctive one have to be careful while working on the person's face.

You are right one should always get them done professionally, wither waxing or threading is not so expensive to get them done by a professional, just have to fine the right person.

dont wax before u have ur period, cuz its gona hurt and at that time ur reall sensitive to everything, have it done after ur pms.. for less pain..

That's for sure always do it after your pms especially brizilline.

arghhhhhhh sum1 tell me if there is sum way of making waxing hurt less...everytime i have 2 get it done i try 2 run away or make up some excuse though i feel euwwwww with hairy arms, etc....but it hurts so much :( there shud be some other way....n no m not talkin abt lotions cuz they ruin yr skin........

You must be very sensetive person, other after couple of waxing you should get used to it. Normally if a person is not very experienced they tend to be slow, I got my whole-body done from the lady who did my wedding less the an hour, she was pretty fast and effecient, before when I used to go to another lady she took 2 hrs to get me finished.

^ i have been getting mine done for more than 5 yrs...but still it hurts me so much :( the waxing wali lady says the same that she has neva had a case like mine b4 who is so sensitive.......but wat 2 do?!?.

How about trying the lady I go to, maybe you can differenciate as to who's hands are soft or hard. Normally I find some people's hand can be very rough/heavy, the lady I go to call her (416) 332-0362 name Kathleen.

aww tx but i live in pakistan...btw i do agree that it depends on the hands 2 but i still think i m extra sensitive in this deptartment...lol its funnie cuz else i m quite a brave girl!!!

what i done for the first time was actually shave and then when like really little hairs came back i waxed…now ive forgotten the name of the wax lekin it was good…and after that i would wax as soon as like i could see little hairs coz dnt let em grow too long and then wax…it kills

When i was 12 i niked my dad's safty razor and shaved my arms :D
Now i use wax strips they r less painful !

Best would be get it done professionelly, creams is the worst to use to remove hair, as the work the same as shaving you hair, then the regrowth is thick, as the just cuts the hair instead removing it, so best is to wax/thread (thread is advisable to the face)
Apply wax the same way the hair growth, then pull the cloth the opposite way, hope this is of some help.

hmm be frankly, if u want to tell here... what u do yourself on that both parts. Actually for arms i made wax in home, and applied through jeans, result is no doubt very effective and make hands neat and clean
