waxing & hair regrowth

After 5 days of waxing the hair on my arms are visible again :grumpy:(not 5 weeks but 5 days)
Even the marks of the bruise I got while waxing hasnt gone completely yet but the hair is back:bummer:

Could it be 'cuz I apply almond oil on my arms on a daily basis?
Or could it be something else?

Read this and look at the pic:

Also, you should not be getting bruises. It does not sound like the waxing is being done properly, in which case you will also get broken hairs that will become visible again soon.

Re: waxing & hair regrowth

Bruises? It sounds like the person waxing is not doing it right…at the most you might turn red but there should be no bruising. And if your hair comes back that fast then look into other options for hair removal…it will be the same cost wise.

Re: waxing & hair regrowth

Thank you stoppit & reha....I tried convincing parents sometime back for laser hair removal but parents hadn't agreed so that's out of question.
Any other hair removal options?

Re: waxing & hair regrowth

No temporary method is going to last as long as waxing (or threading), if done properly. I'd let the arm hair grow out for 2-3 months (probably better in the winter months!) to have a better idea of what a full growth actually looks like. Then go to a decent salon, that uses good waxes (if the hair is short, then waxes for short hair. i love lycon waxes) and get a proper wax that doesn't bruise and removes all the present hairs from the root - no breakage. You WILL start to get some regrowth after the wax (the early anagen hairs that were not present - refer to that post in the Laser thread) but the rest of empty follicles need to start producing growing hairs which will take a bit longer.

What I used to do is wax, then shave any regrowth regularly for about 8 weeks (for the first month, there's not too much hair and shaving kept them smooth), then leave the hairs for a week or two (no shaving) to allow them to get long enough to wax, then do a wax.

I think i'll go for a lycon wax too if i find it around here.
I did read that post & got a basic idea of the diff hair types.
