Wavy hair

I kinda need urgent help. I have to go to an event tomorrow so would love it if anyone can help me out soon. I want to have wavy hair for the event. The problem is that I have long, straight, heavy hair. Previously I have tried getting the look by coming out the shower, putting gel in my hair while the hair is towel dry and scrunching it and then putting In hair spray. Everythme I do that, after about 30 min my hair becomes very frizzy and the waves get loosened and I look like I’m homeless. I believe this happens cuz my hair is heavy and naturally it gets weighed done and the waves become undone.

I NEED to know how to make my hair very wavy for the whole day, until the next morning. Also without the use of a curling iron or hair curlers. Thanks in advance!

Re: Wavy hair

u shud put mousse in ur hair wen they r completely dry, scrunch em up wit a lot of mousse and if can try garnier fructis surfer sculpting gel as we wit the mousse it hold the waves/curls well and longer. iron wud be a gud idea too and u can use a bit of hair spray to keep em locked for the day.

Re: Wavy hair

in the morning, after u shower, put in LOTS of curl activator/product. divide ur hair into as many sections as u have the time for. then, braid each section, or make buns out of each section and tie it up. right before u have to go, open all the sections, arrange the curls, put on more product and ur set!

Re: Wavy hair

mousse/curl activator and hairspray.
works for me.

that scrunch thing is crap if you have heavy straight hair. I have that type of hair and i split my hair in the middle and form 4-6 braids on each side of my head making 8-12 braids all together. I do this when my hair is wet, combed through, and then i add a little gel to each group i will braid, then braid it (do not put the gel in all of your hair at once bc it’ll dry before you get to braid and that’s not what you want). In the morning your hair will be dry, as you unbraid it you will have beyonce like waves that will stay until you chose to wash your hair again. trust me i have very heavy hair that never holds curls from a curling iron but these waves as long as you braid your hair somewhat tight (not too tight) will do the trick. if anything tonight just do one strand and wake up and see the results so you know how tight or loose you want your braid to be for your waves.

also use hairspray, mousse, or gel to control the fly ends at the top of your head  have fun! also if you want just invest in a crimping iron i have one from the 80s that provides pretty much the same results but that does burn and damage your hair so hmmm…

After a shower dry u're hair and apply a sculpter or hair-putty.. and like bride2be said make very small sections and roll them up into small buns and spray with hairspray..leave it this way till as long as u can. When u un-do it..scrunch them

Re: Wavy hair

OMG, I have to agree with sweet_lil_hunnie here...I have tried and tested this method so many times, and it works great. I don't even use any sprays or hair gels. Just do tiny braids when your hair is damp, keep them braided for a few hours, (you can use hair sprays or gels like mentioned), and then unbraid them let, brush your fingers through your hair (dont brush your hair vigorously with hair brush/comb, or the waved would come loose), and you are all set!

I do it similar to lil_hunnie but only do 1 French plait with wet hair. When its dry I spray some hair spray before opening the plait. This way the hair has a more wavy look rather than a crimped look.

Re: Wavy hair

I used curling/scrunching gel from fructis and their styling putty. Made 5 braids when the hair was towel dried for about two hours cuz I didn't have time. They came out fine and then I scrunched them with more gel. They lasted all night long and my husband also liked it! :)
Thanks b2b!

The reason I can't do the other method posted is because I can't sleep on wet hair, it's too uncomfortable for me.
