^the pictures we see of them get photoshopped. we're unable to see their fine lines, wrinkles and any other imperfections. i'm sure you'd be able to spot a couple of flaws if you were to see the models in real.

bridal makeup is very heavy and it suppose to be heavy. if you will go for more natural side then i dont think you will look like a bride since in your wedding everyone will have natural makeup on
Brides are exposed to diff lights.. and in those, she may appear older than she actually is :) white-base, yellow-base, pink-base... white lights.. yellow lights!
Models as marwa said.. their pictures are fotoshopped to perfection.. no open pores..no wrinkle, crinkle!
Possibly what would go wrong is, as mentioned by previous posters above, is if the makeup is too heavy or 'caked on'....this would give a very artificial and overt look to the bride, rather than making her look beautiful, stunning and radiant, as a bride should be.
Its so important that the makeup artist gets the balance just right, so the bride looks great not only in person, but also in her wedding pics....its a very fine line between the two. If the brides makeup is also overly dark and excessive, it will also age her considerably and ultimately, its upto the skilss of the MUA to bring her true beauty out...
