I am sorry to be dim, but when your water breaks what exactly happens, does a gish of water come or drips?
Do your waters break and your contractions start at the same time?
Did anyone’s waters break during an awkward occassion, out shopping, middle of a party etc, lol

It can be a sudden gush and it can be dripping. Contractions can start before or after your water breaks. At times your water breaks hours before actual contractions start and at times it doesn't break till the last moment when you are ready to deliver.
In my case, both times, my water had to be broken! I was induced with both babies.

What I have read and I have read a lot of it during my pregnancies ... have no personal experience of it breaking, that it mostly happens when u are relaxed, sitting on the sofa or sleeping in the bed and it mostly like a big splash of water, that keeps coming till there is no more to come, but it can also come in small doses, so that u not really notice it and think its urine.
contractions dont normally start right away, it takes some time.
so you have to be quite aware of anything unusal .. meaning if u feel u are leaking dont take it light, go to a doc and have it checked.
