One of the items of information given in the Qur’an about rain is that it is sent down on earth in due measure. This is mentioned in Surat az-Zukhruf as follows;
(It is He who sends down water in due measure from the sky by which We bring a dead land back to life. That is how you too will be raised (from the dead).) (Surat az - Zukhruf, 11)
This measure in rain has again been discovered by modern research. It is estimated that in one second, approximately 16 million tons of water evaporate from the earth. This figure amounts to 513 trillion tons of water in one year. This number is equal to the amount of rain that falls on the earth in a year. This means that water continuously circulates in a balanced cycle according to a “measure”. Life on earth depends on this water cycle. Even if people had used all the technology in the world, they would not be able to produce this cycle artificially.
Even a minor deviation in this amount would very soon give rise to a major ecological imbalance that would bring about the end of life on earth. Yet, this never happens and rain keeps falling every year in exactly the same amount– just as is revealed in the Qur’an.
Every year, the amount of water that evaporates and that falls back to the Earth in the form of rain is “constant”: 513 trillion tons. This constant amount is declared in the Qur’an by the expression “sending down water in due measure from the sky”. The constancy of this quantity is very important for the continuity of the ecological balance, and therefore, life.

I really don't see the amazement in this. It seems to be a very obvious obvservation. That amount of water evaporated is the amount of rainfall each year. Well DUH! Rainfall comes from evaporated water...where else did you think it comes from?

I dont mean to be a thorn; but how did Harun Yahya makes this leap? I respect this guy's work and philosophy, but I cannot undersatnd how you can get at the 'constant' nature of water by that statement. Nothing about the statement jumps out as implying there is constant water in the earth system (which is not a very shocking statement...we dont have aliens bringing new water).
Actually, I am beginning to doubt the statement that their is constant rainfall. There may be near to constant water in the earth (i.e. H2O); but if we think about; rainfall is not constant. For example, the icecaps are melting due to increase in global warming. This releases more liquid H2O (that was previously locked up in icebergs) into the system which can then be evaporated and turned into rainfall.

How gullible can people get! so you take 'due measure' and somehow want to coopt it with rainwater studies! Believe what you want but be aware anyone can interpret vague scriptures as they want. Osama bin Laden had a particular interpretation of Allah's will that wasn't very godly.
BTW, out of curiosity, how does the islamic calendar define a year?

I’m not denying any favor…but it doesn’t help Islam to tout pointless observations as “lastest discoveries”. it would be nice to show verses that confirms Quantum physics observations: entanglement, probability distributions, uncertainty principle, particle-wave duality…and the plethora of other breakthroughs. but ofcourse…the Qu’ran is a science book…so..then why bother with these kinds of little things?

Can you prove that just because the polar ice caps are melting then there is more rain? Harun Yahya's argument is based upon scientific study yours is just a guess.
Do the experiment If you have 10 hours of sun and you have 2 beakers of water, one contains 1 litre and the other contains 2 litres, do you think that more water will evaporate from the 2 litres? No it all depends on the amount of sunshine they are exposed to not the amount of water.

blush, can you find out how Quron accounts for the drinking water that was carried into outer space? Please don't say amount of water carried out in the shuttle = amount of frozen pee ejected into the space = amount of space ice that stuck to the outer walls of the rocket.

You are quite right about the evaporation depending on the amount of sunshine. However, your example is incorrect. You are using beakers instead of an earth like surface. It depends on the amount of sunshine reaching water; therefore, increasing water is not whats important but increasing the surface area of water that is exposed to sunlight. Since more water is released due to global warming, the surface area is increasing around the globe, and beaches are receding in size. So technically more water is exposed to sunlight.
Also, i doubt that 530 trillion tons is exactly constant per annum. There is no way that year after year the number is the same ..it only will depends on what degree of accuracy we choose. ..its not gonna be 530,000,000,000,000.00 every year. So…our preception of “constant” depends on where what numbers we want to ignore (this is standard high school stuff about “scientific notation”).

Again you just have a doubt. Doubts are baseless.
If the surface area of water is increasing then so is the distance away from the sun. Not all water evaporates to form clouds, humidity etc
I don't think either of us are in a position to prove either way. It's better for you to question Harun Yahya instead of just doubting and discussing with me who also doesn't know the facts behind the research.

What? how is the distance decreasing? Infact its increasing because more water is being added. The sea-level is not going down..thats why its slowly creeping up the land..cause there's a surplus.
This is a simple thought experiment.
EITHER WAY...constancy of rainfall wasn't even mentioned in the Quran, so i dont know why we are arguing this.
