Water Retention/ Swollen feet

Hi
i wonder if you can help

has anyone got remedy for reducing water retention in feet or the whole body.

my hubby had swollen feet last week, right one more swollen up than the left one, he wento doctors ,they prescribed diuretic medication name: flurosemide 40mg tablet. to help reduce water in body, to be taken for only 7 days.
by taking these tablets , have helped reduce the swelling of the feet but not as much, is there anything else he can do to get back to normal? he cant really drink water during the day due to fasting n tries to keep his feet raised up when hes at home.

any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Re: Water Retention/ Swollen feet

take less salt...like 50% less than what he intakes.

Re: Water Retention/ Swollen feet

increase the dose of diuretics after consulting with doctor.

Re: Water Retention/ Swollen feet

Thanx, doc have prescribed him more diuretics to have for next 4 weeks but at lower dosage of 20mg, plus Aspirin as it might help too.

Ajwain is really good for water retention. Make Ajwain tea (add some seeds in boiling water) and he should drink 3 to 4 glasses a day... It's very effective.

Re: Water Retention/ Swollen feet

thanks for the tip, iksa,.. will def try it.

Re: Water Retention/ Swollen feet

yeah def reduce salt intake AND the best way to get rid of water retention is to actually drink more water - which I understand is difficult due to fasting!

How about some kind of massage? Like a traditional Chinese herbal type of massage
