How are you guys keeping up with the water. I seem to not get enough and have been getting achiness and restlessness in my legs. I try to drink 6 glasses but with iftar and sahoor and chai (no chai is not an option) I cant seem to stay hydrated enough as I would like. Tips would help.
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
I find it easier drinking the required amount if I'm counting water bottles, not glasses. I've gone between then 1.5L bottles and 3 of the 500mL ones. I do that with my mom too. I tell her she has to finish the jug of water I place on her nightstand. Keep the water source near you all the time, or at least most of the time. Otherwise you can just get lazy getting up and going to the kitchen to get the water.
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
^That’s a really good idea with the bottles. I get to drink like 2 glasses between iftari and sehri ![]()

6 glasses? that is really good.
I can only fit a glass of ruhavza at iftari and 2 glass at sehri
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
1 glass of water at Iftar, 1 after dinner, 1 before going to bed, 1 right after getting up for saHrii and 1 last glass of water just before the end of saHrii time.
5 glasses of water is more than sufficient. :)
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
Almost same as KKF, except no dinner, instead I take a bottle of water with me to masjid and try to finish it during tarawih. Since most of us live in climate controlled environments we almost never sweat and never feel thirsty. This not only causes dehydration, but other health problems too ( eg. bladder infection, UTI etc )
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
I drink about 2 glasses at aftaar and take a bottle to my room to drink in intervals during taravee but it is a small bottle but i do drink it all. I have a glass of water at sehri too , i can't drink more at that time.
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
I get between 500ml and 1L during Taraweeh. Then a couple of glasses between iftar and sehri.
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
Showers are good - water without drinking
psychologically removes thirst but very minimal or even negligible water is actually absorbed.
Can be done while fasting
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
I never take water after any meal. I take 1/2 Liter of water before sahri and one bowl of yogurt which is best thing and you never feel any thirst throughout the day. I am living in area where we have 40+ C temp through out the day.
Then in Aftari take 1/2 Liter and after this eat one full plate of water melon and after almost one hours take another 1/2 Liter.
Re: Water intake during Ramadan
4 glasses of water is more than sufficient.
