What does water bag leakage in 8th month mean? Im asking this for a close relative of mine. She is in her 35th week and doctor said even after the sudden discharge there is enough water for the baby but she will be kept under observation for 1-2 days.
Did that happen with anyone? Is that in any way a sign of approaching labour or what? Since the time right now is very less, not even 36 weeks its not safe for the baby, so any real life experiences?

if your water bursts or starts to leak, you have to be monitored pretty carefully because there is a high risk of infection for the baby from then on. i would say your relative’s baby is going to come fairly soon.

^ ditto to all the comments above. my friend has a very small leak while she was in her 7-8th month (dont remember the exact number of weeks but definitely before 36) and she was hospitalized under observation for about 2 weeks. they finally induced her and she delivered her baby a few weeks early. he was born normal but stayed at the hospital for about a month before he was finally sent home.

i had discharge at about 34 weeks, i called emergency and the midwife told me to come in just to be safe. once there they confirmed my water had broke and i was admitted due to risk of infection. i had ctg monitoring every day and blood tests and my temperature taken regularly, while baby was still happy inside i was induced at 34+6 because i had developed infection. my little boy is strong and healthy (17months old)..better to always be safe
Oh okay. She is around her 35th week, she needs to get passed 20 more days somehow to have a low risk delivery. Doctor too told her it may be an infection, admitted her to hospital and sent her back after injections and medicines saying there is still enough water for the baby. But yesterday she then had pain. Do you guys know people who have had babies in 8th month and babies are healthy and good?

My nephew was born at 32 weeks! He’s 4 now and is happy and healthy 35 weeks isn’t bad. My daughter was born at 36 weeks .. and mA she’s completely and totally healthy and has been from day one.
