First lot being the last year’s debutants like Yasir, Malik, Farhat, Gul and Shabbir, who earned their place in the team.
In this thread we will discuss the performance of the new debutants/fairly new players in the on going Paktel cup and test series. I know Misbah is around for long time, but he doesn’t have permenant place in the team, so were Faisal Iqbal and Imran Nazir.
In the new lot players to watch are:

Bazid Khan
Asim Kamal
Misbah ul Haq
Naved-ul-Hasan**
Please add more players names if they get to play in this season.
Woolmar and Inzi are confident to find one or two more players from the next top 7 players that were not in the final 15 players in last season. I think these five are the best among the current available top 22 players in First class. They have been consistant in recent times. Having said that I believe there must be 10-12 more talented players that are under the dust due to the parchi system. We will need to look into the talent hunt clinics once again on the local club level to discover that great talent, but that probablly will happen later this year or next year. For now we have the best known players in hand.

I'd add Mohammad Khalil in that list too, simply because he's supposedly the most promising left-armer we have right now. There is no substitute for a good left-arm swing bowler, it's an immediate advantage in your armory.
Good to see he's being regularly called up to provide the boys some left-arm bowling practice in the net sessions. Perhaps he needs to be included in more "A", Patron's XI etc. games to prepare him for an eventual call-up.
I guess Misbah had few matches under his belt, but has yet to prove his
worth.
Comparing the legend Pair of Sohail & Anwar at the top of the line was the incredible left hand in play. Most of the Fast bowler are not comfortable bowling to the lef handers. Pakistan had 2 to open bat.
I either of them failed then you play your Wild Card ( Afridi ) he would disrupt any bowlers confidence, line n length. Adding valuable runs at the same time.
This is the stretigical difference they need to understand.
If any one of the above failed, Afridi’s wild card was used to cause havoc with bowlers line or lenghth. Thats one day cricket at its best.
At present we have a simple orthodox system of 2 bats to take the shine of the bowl, stabilize the innings, score 4 runs an over.
Yhis needs to be changed. One must about some variations to let the opponents guessing.
Do some thing different at the Top order,may be re-introduce the 2 left hand pair,
Same things goes for the quick bowlers. Right hand Fast / Left hand Fast combination is a must, Akram / Sohail / Anwar

I think Salman Butt is a good butt.....oops batsman. He deserves the whole tounament atleast. Its home ground and it will give him more confidence. His technique is reasonable and can improve with more experience. I think Woolmar can fix him and Shoaib Malik on the moving balls.
Bazid was not bad either, he must get more chances.
Rana is not that bad as some ppl see him. He deserves more chances, atleast he is filling in for Shabbir and Gul's absence. While we are on hunt for a new express bowler, keep him in the squad.

-Misah is not a youngster he's close to 30.
Asim Kamal and Rana have both impressed me personally, they both have guts and consistency - very important qualities.
I have'nt heard great things about Rao either, but who knows - he has'nt played all that much yet.
The main man to watch out for is Muhammad Irshad, people say great things about him. If he's anywhere near as fast as people say he will be a great player.
But of course theres so much hype and BS out there who can figure out the truth.
I personally think Rana was a better choice than Razzler in test matches. He is more effective with ball than him and also he can also be a good tuk tuka in batting. We don't need a slogger in tests anyways.
Since Karachi's wicket has grass on it, I will go for Rana rather than Razzler.
And please bring Salman Butt back and get rid of Farhat parchi. dishoom

lets lable Saqlain a failure because Sluggers had a field day against him in ODI
