Once his mother said in a cold night:“Wataya! You are close to ALLAH, its very cold tonight can’t you ask ALLAH to spare a little bit of fire from hell to keep us poor people warm here?”

Nice thread. I remember this one my Baba wada used to tell us.

Once thieves take away all the things from Watayo's house. Instead of going to report that with Kotwal (Police), he went in graveyard and remained there for many days.

People asked him, why are you sitting in graveyard. I don't who were the thieves, but I know they certainly will come here (after death). :)

Once someone informed Watayo that his mother had gone crazy and was writhing in the dust in the city centre; knowing his mother acted oddly at times he was nonetheless surprised. Reaching home he inquired; she replied that having seen a rupee coin in the path and thinking that if she picks it up someone would claim it, the best way was to act crazy and pocket it without anyone suspecting. Watayo said, “I knew my mother would not be all that crazy without a very good reason

Once, While going somewhere walking on his foot, he was repeating a maxim “Everything is done by the God.”Suddenly, a small boy threw a stone which struck at his back and hurt him. He turned back and, stood staring at the boy. The boy pronounced “Everything is done by the God.” On that, Watayo replied “I*t is true that everything is done by the God but, there are people who also do many things to sin.*”

Once during a wedding feast in Watayo’s village, he was entrusted by the invitor to distribute dry dates and sweets after "Nikah" among the invitees. Watayo asked the invitor, “Would you like me to distribute it in the Godly way, the way Almighty would do? Or would you want me to distribute in the worldly way, the way Adam (People) would do?” People said, “Wataya! our Creator is Just above all. Do as He will do." Watayo made the first person get a huge portion while abused the other and sent him back without anything. Then he arbitrarily distributed very big or very small quantity of sweets among people. The owner got embarrassed and asked Watayo to distribute it in the worldly way."

On another occasion a fire broke out in the village, Watayo wrapped his ralli, the traditional patched cloth of Sindh, around him and said, “It helps to be a on the breadline in such times. Nothing to fear and nothing to lose."
