Waswasah

Are ALL the bad thoughts/ Waswasah that we get from the shaitan?

Re: Waswasah

Wali Allah of our time Hazrat Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Sahab consider it another component of the sweetness of Iman.
1. Suppressing the Nafs Another sign indicating that a person has tasted the sweetness of Imaan, is that this person will overcome and suppress all his evil and carnal desires. He will not succumb to his haraam passions and desires. He will regard them as cursed passions; the fulfillment of which earns him the displeasure of his Beloved Allah. "We regard such pleasures As worthy of being cursed, By which, O friends, My Lord becomes displeased.”

When evil thoughts enter the mind and evil desires enter the heart, then we should overcome them by ignoring them and not entertaining them. Let them pass by, but pay no attention to them. We should not invite these thoughts and lay out the dastarkhan (table) for them and amiably say: "O you wonderful thoughts, please remain in my heart for a long time because I am deriving much enjoyment from this visit of yours.”
My understanding, we as human act upon desire, the presence of evil forces(shaitan) motivate us to do things, while if we control our bad thoughts shaitan can still hit us very badly and hard. Therefore it is observed that all the good/neek people of Allah are under hit list of shaitan.

Re: Waswasah

Peace redvelvet,

Somtime we listen to these thoughts (waswasah) and while doing it we have peace in our mind but others say it is good or bad act. The Holy Qura'an mentions three (3) types of Nafs:-

 1. In Chapter 12 verse 53 - Nafs Al Ammarah [Which soul is persistent enjoiner of evil]
 2. In Chapter 75 verse 2 - Al Lawwamah [the self-reproaching spirit (Eschew Evil)].
 3. In Chapter 89 verse 27 Al Mutmainnah [The righteous soul which in rest and satifsaction neither persistent enjoiner of evil nor reproaching spirit].

Those who practice more and more will achieve the level 2 and those who do less or don't will be at level 1. Simple is that shaitaan attacks there (bring bad thoughts) where we are weak.
