i think every one knows about islam, and if they only want to read the hate speech and dont want to read the other side of the story, then there is nothing we can do about it.
i now believe that there is no more need to preach islam to non muslims, if somebody wants to learn, there is easy access to islamic knowledge every where,
what is more important now is making those already muslim people to be more honest, tolerant, fair to humans and all the good qualities one can have in a person. this is the way to greatness
if we rectify ourselves, then the non-muslims, will follow insh'Allah.
the non-muslims only need an example to look up to and what great example is there other than our Rasulullal (pbuh). if we try to bring his characteristics into our lives then this is the best dawah. the way we interact, transact, walk, eat, sleep, drink, play, work, everything according to the sunnah, then the non-muslim has no complaints, only that he will come running to islam, insh'Allah!
a scholar mentioned that, a convert was asked how he came to islam, was he reached by some other muslim person? he said, no, thank Allah that I embraced Islam before I met MUSLIMS! this is a true story and sad one for us born Muslims who don't live up to the sunnah of Rasulullah(pbuh).

am i wrong ?
I have often noticed that Muslims always use the word 'learn'....they never use word..'study' or 'analyze'....what they are afraid of?
well study, analyze, what ever whats the difference ?
we are not afraid of any thing, and did u get your answer about dar us salam ?
and if some one doesn't want to learn or study, well then too bad
Well there is a great difference between 'learning', that your people start at madrisa at a childhood age...learning without questioning and study or analyze, that dependes on enquiries, doubts etc.
And if there is no difference, why you start panicking when we study or analyze Islam?
Re Dar-ul-harb...study posts of your co-followers and tell me who is right or more right!

Darb Ul Harb to put in modern terms is similar to the US concept of "Axis of evil", countries considered hostile towards the interests of US.
i dont think its our duty as muslims to convert as many non muslims (or muslims) to our way. Although admirable, our aim is merely to show by actions, 'inform' and direct them to reliable sources of knowledge on Islam, should they show interest. After that, tis up to them what they do, or where they go with it.

anjju you can be sure of this, i am much more critical of islam then you ever will be, heck i have been called kaafir many many many times. i am still seeking knowledge and to be honest islam does seem the most logical of all the religions, but i must admit i believe that this world would be much better place without religion, but this world is just a test, an exam, so what is more important is being honest, and good to every one, and i really believe islam teaches that.
BUT then again, i am sure you will come up with a reply you think is witty and outsmarts me, well what can i say, you really are very smart, muslims are stupid, ok happy ?

i think its not our duty to tell any one whats right and whats wrong, they have a brain they can study, and if they dont like it well, what can we do ?
we shuould just be good ourselves. we dont need to care what others do, our job is convey message to them, and in this age and time every one knows about islam, for better or for worse.

anjuu, why dont you read from the person who coined this term abu hanifa, you can google it, then you can get the answer from the person who invented this term, not ordinary people's perception, when most of them are just guessing.
The first thing we should do is correct our attitudes. People are attracted to humilty and humanity, qualities that the Prohphet (saw) possesed. Sometimes we try to act way more superior than him
Like everyone said, we should focus on ourselves first and set the right example.
Let us for the moment assume there never was a Osama bin Laden or Ghazani / Gori Mohamad sort of attackers or no muslim suicide bombers (these being the kind of things that have led to the impressions of a violent nature). In that state, everyone will certainly be interested to learn about the philosophy of Islam - because its positive aspects will be visible and create interest.
Unfortunately that is not the case - a 1000 muslims living in peace in a Indian village makes no news because there is nothing interesting for people to read! On the other hand stories of violence make good press.
It is like a company making 20% profit year after year - nobody thinks twice about that company. But one mistake - say two failed quarters or a CFO embezzlement and next thing you know, the stock starts diving
There is no pointing lamenting against the press or the readers after that. The only 'fix' the company by getting rid of the embezzlers, cut the quarterly losses etc.
Same way perhaps Islam must find a way to get rid of the bad elements. I don't know if you have a system for ex-communicating etc and if not, may be create one. Start publicly ex-communicating the suicide bombers, the fiery clerics and the tyrant monarchs who all claim o be saviors and defenders of Islam and I guarantee you the problems will be gone in no time

when you study and analyze...put your doubts and then seek the answer with open and clear mind............................you eventually learn something.

then why you have put up preconditions...if you do not agree with me you are deaf and dumb.
