He is not starting his career as commentator. He did it during the recent England vs. Bangladesh series.

Also, he was commentator during one Sahara Cup (when he was injured) which Pak lost 4-1, I think was in 98 or something.

And yeah, he is a good commentator, certainly far better than Amir Sohail.

maybe he is your hero / legend but not mine.

so who is ur hero or legend....dont tell me the good for nothing sachin or kumble???

and i am watching the match now...waseem was there examining the pitch along with shastri......best of luck to australia in this match...

After keeping everyone waiting at Brisbane, Wasim Akram is finally here to take his seat behind the microphone in the ESPN-Star box. He is instantly besieged by the Indian media, who want to talk left-arm fast bowling with him. But Akram's immediate worry is the lunch - which, unlike the sit-down buffet that is customary in most Australian grounds, is limited to sandwiches, pies and sliced cakes here. "At this rate, I will have to turn vegetarian," he says. "After all, how many meat pies can you eat?"

Over a chat on the balcony, I ask him about Irfan Pathan Khan. "He looks good," Akram says, "but he is young, give him a few years. Irfan, of course, has wasted no time in seeking advice from Akram, who might have been India's bowling coach had not a move to get him appointed met with collective hysteria in both India and Pakistan. "The advice I gave him was not to read newspapers for the next few years," Akram says. "I never made the mistake of doing that in my early years. What I did was a lot of talking. Talking to every fast bowler I could catch hold of. If you want to learn, you have to go and seek it - nobody will come forward and offer it."

For obvious reasons, he doesn't want to talk about the coaching assignment that wasn't to be. Ask him about the lawsuit against him in Pakistan, and he responds with a resigned smile and a shrug of the shoulders. "I have sued him back," he says ...

*it will be gr8 :k: to hear from one of the finest cricketers to play the game. :dhimpak: his comments on the fast bowling on show @ kiwi land will be interesting, very interesting.. *

p.s " NORTH, SOUTH EAST OR WEST, WASIM AKRAM IZ DA BEST!!"

maybe the combination of orange and red makes it appear blue? i just took the word “red” out and here is the result.

today, wasim appluaded indian bowlers despite being torn apart by the arrogant aussie batting.....what was he thinking....most of the indian bowlers didnt get their line right, and still wasim appreciated their effort...infact, one of his comments went like this, "looking at the way the world champions are batting, indian bowlers have been successful in keeping them down"....this is like saying, that u can score 36 runs off an over maximum, and if u just score 34 (5 6's and 1 4's), this means that the bowlers r doing well...duh wasim....

thanx sohail :k: u were rite it worked
