Washington DC

Re: Washington DC

well we had an absolute blast in DC!
definitely going back with the little one to spend more time in the museums.

I do have one question though…we passed a some strange “smokestack-like” structures on North Capitol Rd and I am dying to know what they are…can someone please fill me in?

See structures circled in red…
Here is where they are located:

Re: Washington DC

so nobody has any idea about the above?

Re: Washington DC

What did you end up seeing in DC Muzna? Any recommendations for those of us with kids. I am planning to visit in a few weeks with my kids. I know Air 7 Space Museum & the Zoo were recommended. Anything else?

Re: Washington DC

depending on the ages of your children......I would recommend the museum of natural history over the air and space museum.
we simply took the tour bus that you can hop on and off and did all the famous monuments plus two museums. since we were only there for two days it was the only way to really feel like we saw the city.
most returned saying they would like to return for a full week......

Re: Washington DC

Well my son is a little over 3 1/2 but we will have an infant as well. I have been to DC before, but before the kids. Any festivals happening in the city?

Re: Washington DC

Thats an old sand based water treatment plant that was decommissioned a while back. It filtered the wtaer from the Potomac. They are thinking of making a big park over there now.

Re: Washington DC

Thank you! Finally. I will sleep better tonight knowing this.
Btw....I was thinking it was some sort of undergroup trench/shelter system........then I imagined it as some really nasty incineration system......

Re: Washington DC

I think for the 3.5 year old it will be better to go to the zoo and the museum of natural history. We didn't go to the zoo so I don't know much about it but I'm sure you can look it up.

Dunno 'bout festivals......sorry.
