now my mom had a baby washer when we were babies (a small small washing machine) and taht is how she washed our clothes.
my question is, how do u moms wash ure baby’s clothing? with your own adult clothing? seperately? hand wash (dayum thats a lot of clothes to clean eveyrday!)
im talking clothing for newborn to what.. 2 yrs?
im thinking would it be bad if i were to throw in the baby’s clothing with our own…
i wish there were baby washers available in denmark.. but nopes. mom wants to send me one.. but thats sorta insane.
Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think it's utterly necessary to have a seperate washer just for baby's clothes. If it makes you feel better, just do a load of baby's clothes alone (small load) and use gentle/sensitive laundry detergent/fabric softener. I know I did some handwashing as I went, as well as a load every few days when needed. Some stuff when he was a newborn, it was just easier to wash as you go.....and others i could let build for few days for laundry.
I allways clean my daughters cloths alone even now that she is 3, in the beginning i used a sensitive especially for baby's detergent with no fabric softner, otherwise i dont think its really necessary to have a seperate washer for kids/babies.
I don't think there's a need for a seperate washer for the baby..you can just do a seperate load of his/her clothes with mild detergent and that should be sufficient..That's what we do at our place for my niece. If need be, something could be handwashed, be it for the color, or delicacy.
No need for a separate washer, but it's good to do a separate load just for the baby with a sensitive detergent in the early months. Gradually, I started using the regular detergent and luckily there were no problems.
seperate load made sense to me too.. but unless u have state of the art washing machine that detects the weight of the load and uses detergent and water accordingly, how do u FILL up the machine!!!! i cant imagine letting the pile of baby clothing grow until its reached a full load :o
Believe me you'll be washing a loadful of baby clothes every 2-3 days, their onesies, burp clothes, receiving blankets, regular clothes, socks... and then you can always do a small cycle.

should try the short cycle then i guess...
My machine has the option of doing half of the load with all the programs it has, so I used that, but trust me, you would be doing the full load !!!
my cousin used to come to our house to do her baby's laundry. we have a machine that you can set at small, medium or large loads. also, there are settings like handwash, normal, and heavy duty (gentlest to more heavy duty stuff like comforters, etc). she always used the small load and handwash option along with very mild detergent. does yours have settings like that? i think most machines here do.
lol @ TLK's comment!
just use the gentle cycle which is specific for clothes you need to wash a bit more delicately.. i'd probably use a very mild detergent.. some of my friends still opt for washing the clothes by hand.. jst for the peace of mind.. :)
Khawa, yeah, you'll be doing a full load at least twice a week. We do a separate load, and we use a non allergenic scent free detergent. I hates it, I hates it so much.
I wash my baby (17months) clothes seperately, we have a seperate hamper for his clothes, so I do 1-2 loads per week, and we use organic, perfume/scent, color and phosphate free (sorry for over loading you) laundry detergent! and I don't put his clothes in dryer (other than towels/blankets/bedding) I hope this helps!
oh you''ll be doing a full load every other day.. the amount of clothes the lil one goes through for the first year (or even 2) you end up doing full loads every 2nd/3rd day...
I still wash most of my daughters clothes separetely and ive always used the same detergeant for her and our clothes..
if ur bathing the bubz every 2nd day (or everyday like i do) you'll be utilising towels and rompers and singlets and after 2 days, you will nearly have a full load for bubz alone :)
my poor mum used to have to wash our clothes in the tub when we first moved to OZ... such hardlife hehe... she still reminds of us how lucky we are to have everything lol
