Was there a Marco Polo ...

inside you
when you were progressing from childhood to adolescene or adulthood
this probably applies to seniors here - bachha party dont know what it is :smilestar:

anyway - I dreamed of travelling around the globe, with a backpack, hitchhiking all the way, taking trains (nope - no flights in my plan) and buses and whatever else came in between. Would spend countless hours in the night with an atlas spread in front of my, taking notes in my diary, collected the whole FODOR series, noted points of interest, cheap hotels etc etc.

I would start from karachi by Bolan Mail :smack: , then progress to iran, turkey, greece, italy, france then go down to spain portugal, then up again to belgium, netherlands, germany and northwards to denmark, norway and sweden :jhanda:

Alas - never was able to collect enough money to realize this dream :bummer:
aur ooper say abba jee ka danda, kharab grades aaiey tu chitrool, university main admission, naukri, shadi , bachhay

ab waqt guzar gaya hay :teary1:

Re: Was there a Marco Polo …

damn society

Re: Was there a Marco Polo …

yep. so did what I could backpack across europe, roadtrip coast to coast to coast in US, driving in mexico in a beatup 77 chyrsler etc etc.

not as much as I wanted but first it was lack of money, then commitments..but inshaAllah machupichu is next

Re: Was there a Marco Polo …

if I reverse the order …

:hayaa:

Re: Was there a Marco Polo ...

Fraudz
I am going to do it - at least some of it - when I get some time
At least drive east to west in Canada - its a big beautiful country.
Maybe go north to Yokon, see the northern lights....

So much to do - so little time

Re: Was there a Marco Polo …

Re: Was there a Marco Polo ...

JB you should man, take advantage of atleast the region that u are in.
I still remember thr roadtrip to mexico city, myself and one dude from my fraternity decided to just drive.. no maps, no idea on visa requirements, stayed in one of the most violent cities of mexico. nueva laredo as we entered the country and then made our waty to mexico city and saw the pyramid of sun and pyramid of moon. Never got a chance to go back but that was some experience, on the way back getting stuck in some small mexican town when our car overheated and then sitting in a cantina for half a day watching mexican soccer matches as the mechanics fixed the car..as they say the memories last forever..or atleast until memory loss starts occuring :)
