Was the attack on GHQ an inside job?

Re: Was the attack on GHQ an inside job?

Many people think it is an inside job in that large segments of Pakistan's military are under the spill of extremist Islam. Retired general like Lt General Hamid Gul of Sarghoda, Lt General Javed Nasir, Lt General Asad Durrani, Lt General Mahmoud Ahmad, General Aslam Baig, Major General Abbasi, Colonal Imam, Khalid Khwaja, etc. have VERY DEEP sympathy for and links with Jehad and the holy warriors of Kashmir and Afghanistan (Hafiz Saeed of LeT is a darling of powerful section of Pak's military and intelligence establishment).

So right now Pakistan's military can be divided into two sections, (1) Pan-Islamists and proponents of Pakistan's role as a foremost Muslim power (2) moderates like Kiyani who have to take action against Taleban under US/international pressure.

The idea of the former (i.e. the fundamentalist ) component of Pakistan's military and intelligence establishment is to convert the entire FATA if not the whole Pashtun area to both sides of the Durand Line into a base and sanctuary for Jehadis so NATO and US forces are defeated and evicted from Afghanistan.

The later component i.e. the serving generals like Kiyani (or previously Musharaf)l might have sympathy for such a cause but have to act under international pressure. When this happens, the former component responds. The Jehadi groups both Afghanistan and Kashmir related have strong links with elements in Pakistan's military and intelligence establishment according to serious circles.

Have you read that Government of Punjab was knowing it since 15th July 2009.
Do you remember Sharif s (So called) have confirmed links with Osama and Al-Qauida
They need something to justify postoponement of by-elections like this.
N$ is very angry because he can not become PM again.
So why they should not held responcible for this attack.
No It is not so
Dont think to those dirty players who meet COAS secretly.
Dont look at yellow journalists even yellow chanels who are doing a lot for …
These terrorists are enemy of Pakistan.
This was a big attack but this was very easy for a sucide bomber
Do you forget some attacked on Pantagon on 9/11
Nothing serious about this attack. The terrorists are now going to their end.

Re: Was the attack on GHQ an inside job?

Yes Inside INDIA job!!

Think it is time for Pakistan government to take another look at their strategy … maybe involve the religious parties to come out of this mess … listen to what they to say …

No peace till rulers continue to be allies of US: Qazi - GEO.tv

** No peace till rulers continue to be allies of US: Qazi**

LAHORE: Former amir Jamat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said that peace cannot prevail in the country as long as the rulers continue to remain front line allies of the US.

He said this while addressing a seminar on the occasion of 55th anniversary of Jamai Al-Muntazir here in Model Town on Sunday.

“The US aid is against Islam and Muslims….it is an attack on Islamic ideology and nuclear capability,” Qazi Hussain said.

Re: Was the attack on GHQ an inside job?

Nah
your sarcasm does amuse me
but thanks
but anything better then the government we have now.
But the religious parties are not the solution.

Still India is behind the most attacks in Pakistan no doubt about it!!

Aqeel was mastermind of Sri Lankan cricket team attack
Muhammad Aqeel alias Dr. Usman, heading the gang of terrorists attacking GHQ, was also the mastermind of several heinous incidents including attack on Sri Lankan team and Surgeon Lt. Gen. Dr Mushtaq Baig. He is now finally caught in GHQ operation. Nek Muhammad alias Zubair, arrested for his alleged involvement in attack on Sri Lankan team at Liberty Chowk Lahore on 3rd of March this year, had told during investigation that the mastermind of the attack was Aqeel alias Dr. Usman who brought six culprits to the crime scene. Two rickshaws and arms used in the attack were also provided by him. Muhammad Aqeel alias Dr. Usman belongs to Tehsil Kahota of Rawalpindi. His place was raided on March 9 but he had already escaped to the tribal area. CCPO Lahore Pervez Rathore told during a press conference that Aqeel belonged to Punjabi Taliban Tehreek that is headed by another culprit Farooq. A suicide attack was conducted at Mall Road Rawalpindi on February 2008, killing Surgeon General Mushtaq Baig and eight others. According to security forces, Aqeel alias Dr. Usman was also involved in a rocket attack on former president Pervez Musharraf’s plane.

Guess then it is about time that Satish Anaand Shukla should have been tried … what is the news on him

Satish Anand Shukla : Indian Terrorist Arrested in Lahore : Saffron Terrorism | The Pakistani Spectator

So if Pakistani establishment had focussed on catching this terrorist for last 4-5 years perhaps they would have avoided the embarrasment of this attack on GHQ

There is no guarantee that East Timor or Iceland were not involved either.

Countries have priorities in international relations. Pakistan is a blip on Israel’s radar screen (i.e. their priorities go something like this: Iran, Palestinians, US, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and Saudi Arabia), although Pakistan perversely obsesses over a distant country which it has no realistic prospect of ever going to war with because of it adopting the Arab line on it even though the Arabs have not adopted the Pakistani line on Kashmir (where were Pakistan’s “brothers” in Saudi Arabia in 65’ and 71’? Did they cut off oil to India?)

Practically the whole world viewed AQ Khan’s network as a threat.

Yes, India and Israel cooperate. So what? Russia and India cooperate as well. Does that mean Russia views Pakistan as an enemy? Russia couldn’t care less about Pakistan aside from Jihad, Inc. being in Pakistan. It has no natural interest in Pakistan. It works with India for mutual benefit, not because of anything related to Pakistan. Another example: China and Pakistan cooperate. Does that mean Pakistan views Japan as a threat?

What motive would Israel have to attack Pakistan’s army HQ? That is an act of war. Its biggest fear, its obsession right now is Iran getting nuclear weapons. Why would they attack Pakistan? What is to be gained by attacking a country without missiles to reach Israel? Pakistan’s missiles can’t; Iran’s can. If they attacked Pakistan and Pakistan retaliated–which every country would do if such an attack occurred–the only way for it to do so would be via Iran. Would Israel risk Pakistan helping Iran, even perhaps slipping a nuke or two to Iran?

:k: Exactly. Even if they had the motive to do this and cause a war they would lack the capability. The only country that could recruit hardcore Islamists in Pakistan is Saudi Arabia and it lacks any motive to attack Pakistan. Sometimes a cigar is a cigar. The terrorists have for years announced their intentions while Pakistan thus far has let them continue to operate bases in Wazirastan.

Of course that pro-jihadist Islamist would say that. He wants Pakistan to quit the war on terror so Islamists take over both Pakistan and Afghanistan (and of course, as Jamaat Islami’s founder openly stated, the ultimate goal is for Jihad, Inc. to bring shariah to every inch of the world). He is a joke. Have you ever heard that simpleton give a speech? He has zero substantive policy ideas relating to the economy and he has the IQ of a 5 year old when it comes to analyzing foreign affairs. His entire speech was about two words: “Amreeka” and “Islam.”

Again, I'm not blaming any country in Indian knee jerk style but I wouldn't take any country that has fought against Pakistan immediately off the table. The discussion of Isreali-Pakistani relations is a separate one, as is the discussion of Pakistan-Iran relations.

You take an active and an unnecessary interest in defending India/Israel without knowing the facts on the ground. Before any country is officially blamed, evidence must be available to substantiate the claim. As for suspects there can be many. Now are you planning on launching into a multi-paragraph response regarding suspects vs. actual culprits?

Reminds me of a certain US president if you replace those words with 9-11 and Iraq :D

On the contrary, how much fact do you know on the ground? I fear this type of Pakistani nationalism is bit irrational.

Every evil thing happens to Pakistan is always it is Zardari behind it. Billions misappropriated by military according to auditor general of Pakistan is also work of Zardari.

Zardari hate mafia has to comeup with better strategy to defame him.

Re: Was the attack on GHQ an inside job?

I don't know what would you say to it. When any action (no matter how half-hearted) is taken against Islamic militants, groups like Jumat-i-Islami, Tahrik-i-Insaf, JUI, etc. and individuals like General Hamid Gul, General Aslam Baig, etc. cry at the top of their lungs. Are these groups/individuals then agents of India/Israel.

I'm not claiming that I know the facts on the ground. The suspect list and their motivations is long. There are a lot of Pakistan haters out there ranging from the obvious homegrown extremist elements to the folks across the border. There is absolutely nothing irrational about this, particularly since Pakistan's equivalent of the Pentagon has been attacked.

Re: Was the attack on GHQ an inside job?

What if the attack was totally staged, just to show how the Kerry bill is insufficient, and that the Pakistani military needs free reign to erase the Taliban menace.

I dunno, its just a theory. :halo:

Good Observation

i already put that theory in post #17.

here is another one, the attack on GHQ was masterminded by US with the help of Blackwater was a warning to the pak military for showing displeasure with the K-L Bill.

Why? Because GHQ was only pretending to reject American money but everyone knows that it was these same Generals who accepted billions under Musharraf and shipped off Pakistani suspects to US camps

Why? Because despite the public opposition, GHQ was ready to hand over "bad" jihadis to US.

Why? Because many of these jihadis are sick and tired of being used as puppets - one day our agencies train them to be fighters and give them awards and next day they become "Al Qaeda suspects"

Why? Because if you play with wild animals sooner or later they will come back and bite your children.

Why? Because many of these jihadis were former armymen themselves and have a lot of inside support in critical places.

Did you ever wonder what happens to all these jihadis when our GHQ changes policies on a whim?

Can someone please tell me how a Jewish/Christian/Gora group can "persuade" Pakistani "sons of the soil" named "Aqeel" and "Usman" to blow themselves up?

Seriously, isn't there a limit on these bull**** conspiracy nonsense?
