Faiz died in 1984. In his last two years he nursed a deep hurt that Beirut, his favourite rendezvous (when in exile) was occupied by Israel in 1982. How thrilled would he have been at the winds of change sweeping the Arab world today. Equally, he would have been shattered at the bizarre spectacle of rose petals that are still being showered on the murderer of his nephew Salmaan Taseer.

Taseer's mother and Faiz's wife were sisters or cousins from what i know.

Alys Faiz was an English lady. so Taseer's mother was also English?

Alys Faiz Nikah Marriage Deed was solemnised by Man who Became Later Prime Minister of Indian Kashmir Sheikh Abdullah in Srinagar in 1941 at Pari Mahal which was Maharaja Hari Singhs summer palace where M D Taseer the then principal of S P College was living in its one part, on temporary basis in Maharaja Hari Singhs summer palace. The Maharajah was Direct Decedent of Maharajah Ranjit Singh’s Dogra vazier’s elder brother Mian Gulab Singh.
She is Related to Salmaan Taseer who is her Sister’s Son and (Pakistan PPP leader). Christobel’s Daughter is Salmaa Mahmud Taseer who is currently penning the Biography of Her Late father M D Taseer
