As our scholars ideolise and wish for revival of such a system?
Re: Was Khilafat e Rashida an ideal period in Muslim History?
Ideal from what perspective?
From a political point of view it was one of great external and internal turmoil.
From a religious point of view, it was the last time the Muslims had the best amongst them leading, so Islam was followed more completely during that time than any other since.
Re: Was Khilafat e Rashida an ideal period in Muslim History?
From both perspectives.
Yes that period was blessed with the people who passed their lives with the Prophet, but some people claim that social injustice was started soon after Prophet's death, which caused internal / external turmoil.

There was no system during khilafat e rashida. Every khalifa became khalifa in a different way.
But regardless, even if there was any system, it would be unsuitable for today. In those times there was no communication and it was easy to pick a khalifa without taking into account the will of entire populace. Today everyone's voice can be heard. This is only possible with democracy.
I would say that if Islam had come in 21st century, it would have chosen some form of democracy as its system.
Our scholars want to concentrate on non-issues to keep us busy. If they really are sincere in improving the life of our people then they should be concentrating on education (science subjects, not just fiqh, mantaq, and falsafa), on economy, and on human rights.

Yes that period was blessed with the people who passed their lives with the Prophet,
Those blessed people are not coming back. So we need to move forward and see what is suitable for us now. Khilafat did not work beyond a few decades after prophet, even with the best of the people Islam could ever had. What remained was kingship.
So why should we emulate such a system without such people around?
Come on, we got bigger fish to fry. Like power crisis and economy of the country.
Re: Was Khilafat e Rashida an ideal period in Muslim History?
There was no system during khilafat e rashida. Every khalifa became khalifa in a different way.
It means that things happened as per the wishes of the people having authority and say and due to lack of any systematic approach, that period also faced events like Jang e Jamal and Jang e Siffeen.
Can we say this lack of system during Khilafat e Rashida was the reason behind the turmoil that followed in coming years?
