Now, I am surprised. This basic understanding of human reproduction has been around since 1960s, if not earlier. I read it in a book, but it is also available on the net. I did not had time to fully research the net but here is one link which clearly explains this http://www.thebabycorner.com/pregnancy/info/preg0054.html
Also try searching ask.com on “how to choose the sex of the baby?”. There are several books advertised which explain the basic scientific facts.
that's an intersting site. I mean it got me thinking: yesterday I spend a lot of time in the library trying to find any articles on selection of your baby's sex:
well this is what I found:
It seems that the sex depends on several factors, one of them is the female hormone level at the time of conception.
another one was the hormone level of the father:
in other words the sex of the baby depends on the testosterone level. this might not seem surprising, but what really astonished me was that certain men have higher levels ** according to their social status and occupation **:
ppl who have a "masculine " occupation have more testosterone and r likely to have more sons!!!!!!! these masculine occupations r thought to be: doctor, lawyer, pilot etc.
furthermore men from higher social status have more sons!!!!!
unfortunaltely the exact mechanism is yet to be uncovered.
Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.
Bringing this back up for discussion.
I think it would be best if we stuck to the original topic - contraception.
Does anybody have information on the pill for men?
Peacemaker,
For your nick ,you are obnoxiously offensive
No post since 16th june.
Nothing learnt or gained.!!!!!
This is what happens when immature ignorent of science try to tackle post graduate topics.
My advise to biology students would be to stay under-graduate Students, not confuse themselves with licensed doctors untill done with residency & fully trained
.Pay your dues before advise on internet about regulated science & profession
Knowing few english new words from dictionary is not intelligence by any means

If you have anything worthwhile to add to the topic, then do so. I, for one, don’t know anything about “male pill” so I am quiet on this. Unlike ‘some people’, I don’t believe I need to put in the last word in every thread. You are more than welcome to make a fool of yourself.
Ok for an Update on the latest contraceptive thing on the market
It’s been dubbed the biggest advance in contraception in 30 years … a pain-free, drug-free procedure that’s so far had a 100 percent success rate.
.
It’s called the STOP device - a metal coil that blocks the Fallopian tubes, permanently preventing the release of eggs that could otherwise be fertilised.
The device has been developed by Adelaide gynaecologist Professor John Kerin, in conjunction with US biomedical company Conceptus Inc. It’s been 10 years in the making and is nearing the completion of its two-year clinical trial.
Professor Kerin has inserted the device into more than 100 women, and to date there have been no unwanted pregnancies.
He predicts the 15-minute procedure will replace the tubal ligation operation, commonly known as “having your tubes tied”, because it is less invasive, requiring only a local anaesthetic during day surgery.
When they say "pain free" they must mean it in a very relative sense. Right?
15-minutes under local anesthesia during day surgery.
I thought the system of putting a coil inside was available for some time. I know several women (in my family) who use it. Have been using it for a while.
aray baba parh to lya karo what I have written before spilling your gems of knowledge
You are referring to IUD
the Intrauterine Device
I am talking here bout the STOP device
Two different things
IUD gets inserted in the uterus, it is totally reversible and can be used after the first baby
and is inserted in a nonsurgical procedure
The STOP Device is not like IUD
Its a metal coil that is inserted into the Fallopin tubes which would prevent the release of eggs
Its a permanent procedure meaning it cannot be reversed so is adviced to women over 30 who have completed their families
and is inserted by surgical method unlike the IUD
IUD is not used anymore because in some cases it slipped from the uterus into the V@gin@ and many couples got stuck while doing intercourse which in itself is a very humiliating situation
kher anywayz makes sense now ?
