in addition, cooperation with big powers is also a good strategy when interests align and cooperation can further the interests of pak. during the days of jinnah, uk was the big power which was actually occupying pak. still jinnah cooperated with the british in wwii even though the british took india to war without consulting with the natives. congress in contrast took the moral highground and refused cooperation which put muslim league at an advantage. jinnah btw also appointed a british head of the army after independence.
You mean something like 1980s when US interests aligned with Pakistan's and we supported Afghan war ful fledged and now suffering the consequences..... similarly in 2000s when US interests aligned with Pakistan's and now Pakistan is beginning to suffer from the "alignment"?
