warnig by sectarian biased moderator

Re: warnig by sectarian biased moderator

When I got involved in online forums, it was some Bangladeshi forum. Was an avid poster of the the religious forum, Shia Sunni debates all the time. Participated actively for some time and then got bored, it's a bottomless pit. Although I believe it's the right of the posters to discuss topics, but especially in religious matters sometimes it seems as if people want to score some points and the objective is not to learn about the other side but more like I am better than you, which inflames things and hence results in removal of posts. If you ask me I'd consider the religious forum to be the hardest to moderate, kudos to the moderators working in the forum.

Re: warnig by sectarian biased moderator

aap ker li ga. :)

It is not like win lose game, it is about understanding each other, having different opinion do not mean that one is trying to put down the other sect, but truth should be known to all, and that is what we are trying here.

Litmus test is easy, any one not basing his opinion on solid grounds with supports (which must idealy be rleigious text in religion forum) should be asked to do so.

It is not better to be less knoweldgable to not know what haq is.

Re: warnig by sectarian biased moderator

Thought I'd make a final comment before I put this matter to bed, after this anyone is free to add their 2 pence irrespective of what I think.

Whilst my knowledge may not be as in depth as yours when it comes to sectarian issues, I think this much is clear that bar a handful of posters, most cannot carry on a valuable discussion throwing arguments back and forth in regards to sects WITHOUT throwing around names.. such as a "ghulu shia".. there is no such term collectively. Then to justify their comments they say it's done to make others aware and to increase their knowledge, and it's done so through harshness. Like Huma has said, why does it need to be harsh? When you cannot argue your point in a civil manner, then to what extent are you helping people become aware? As EyesonSky has said there are, quite frankly, new posters who particularly sign up to bash sects.

This is a serious issue, and it's appalling to see that after verbal warnings and notes left in threads end on end, some people still continue to ignore them. Therefore, as a last resort infractions are issued.

Shardmanny, if you still have any other problems that you want to clarify please PM me or my CMs. I think all points have been covered thus far.

Re: warnig by sectarian biased moderator

Jo baat pyar se samjhayi ja sakti hai uske liye fazool mein ghussa kyun karein. Had I been any more stern, it would've been perceived as intimidation and that never works when trying to resolve an issue. I have been on the receiving end of warnings and infractions and it was the team's gentle and professional attitude that changed me to a somewhat saner person. So I'd like to be approachable at all times too.

But no one is banning the sunni-shia discussions. The OP has written tens if not hundreds more posts on the same topic but only this one particular post was removed because of the reasons explained already. I'm sure being a little more sensitive would suffice as a first step.

Anyway, like sweet.i.f. said, all points have been covered so I'm closing this thread as it seems to be going off-topic.

PS: Posting this on behalf on shardmanny, as requested by him via PM:
