But why can’t people respect others’ sensitivities in the main forum too? It doesn’t matter if you’re a shia/sunni/hindu/atheist, you should be able to share your views without offending others, it’s not rocket science.

I am suggesting a way forward, why just ban the discussion, why not start with letting selected knowledgeable discuss?as a first step.
