I have been thinking about warfare in general lately. It appears that war provides best results when there is an imbalance of power. In that situation, a superpower can completely destroy the other country without much damage to its self, and reap the side-benefits that come with occupying another country for a time period longer than necessary. A war between equals usually does not provide any results other than leaving many widows and orphans, and overwhelming need for reconstruction. Thus, conclusion is that only go to war with another country if you have greater power than them; countries of similar size, in more ways than one, should utalize better communication means to overcome differences. And, thus goes the phrase, “why don’t you pick on someone your own size.”
