Peace talks deferred due to bad weather, says Ibrahim

Re: War on terror, what now?

This idiot do not know that Pakistanis who talk about operation are not terrorists that they pick up guns to fight whoever they want. For that, Pakistanis pay taxes and elect Government than rely on law enforcement agencies like police, rangers and army to pick up arms. This is the difference between law abiding Pakistanis and taliban terrorists.

That does not mean Pakistanis cannot pick up arms and crush Taliban themselves, but doing that would be creating further fitna and fasad in the country.

Anyhow, if Pakistanis have to fight taliban animals then first thing would be ending the institutions of law enforcement agencies and armed forces and making country free for all to kill, without any respect or fear for laws of the land and court.

Re: War on terror, what now?

^^^ Sami-ul-haq is an idiot because he has no brain to think and has terrorist mind. One can expect that if asked, he being idiot, would strap bombs around himself and would blow himself up, thinking that blowing himself and in process killing innocent people, Allah would reward him Jannah. Only idiots could think and do such things

On the other hand, Hameed Gul is not idiot but certainly a traitor whose interest is his own belief-agenda, that is other than Pakistan.

Hameed Gul by his stupid talks ('bhashan') wants Pakistanis to develop fear of Taliban and lose trust on Pakistan armed forces, such that they start thinking that Pakistan army is incapable of crushing Taliban even if army wants to.

Fact is that, if Pakistan army could not crush Taliban than Pakistan should not waste billions of dollars on Pakistan army, rather ask some world powers to protect us from armed terrorists. But then, we Pakistanis have trust on Pakistan army and believe they Pak army is capable of defending Pakistani interests, safe Pakistanis from all terrorists, and can crush Taliban anytime without problem.

To compare America war in Afghanistan with Taliban and Pakistan army war with Taliban in Pakistan is ridiculous comparison what people like Hameed Gul do.

Pakistan war with Taliban in Pakistan is to bring peace in Pakistan, for survival of Pakistan from occupation of Taliban terrorists, and war within the boundary of Pakistan, so Pakistan has to fight this war and to survive peacefully, have to defeat Taliban and their supporters. As for USA, their war was with A-Q, not Taliban.

America do not care who rules Afghanistan. American forces were not paid by Afghans to fight for them and their well-being.

America only wanted that Afghanistan is not used by any organisation like A-Q to attack their interest anywhere in the world, and they achieved that. Actually Americans achieved more than that, as now it seems they would have permanent base in Afghanistan and would monitor Afghanistan keeping it within their control.

Re: War on terror, what now?

^^^ Pasha Saheb: It seems, Khawaja Asif has two faces and thinking. One face says something and than realise that 'Boss naraz ho jayea ga' so make somersault and say completely different. He has to survive in politics with one end of rope tied to him and other in the hand of 'Nahari-eater from Raiwand' ...so you can excuse him what he says ... as he may not always mean what he says ... nor it is necessary that what he says is always true. :)

Re: War on terror, what now?

what now?

Re: War on terror, what now?

I think the militants are at their weakest point in a long time. The negotiations have paid dividends in some what exacerbating the fault lines between different militant groups. US halting its drone strikes have also helped in stemming the flow of fighters, as the 'US war' narrative not there. Government has tried to show the people that they tried their level best for peace but the other party is not interested. Many foreign fighters have left for Yemen and Syria, where as the militants are not getting fresh supply of recruits. The militants are tired after fighting for around a decade. The affected people are fed up of violence, hence any sympathy the militants would have enjoyed in the past (among the public) is decimating. Now is the time for the government and army to seize the initiative.

Re: War on terror, what now?

^ you are mainly referring to foreign part of militancy, unfortunately local militants are here to stay and the only way to eliminate that is to fight ourselves first (remove any support for militants from within) then fight the militants.

Re: War on terror, what now?

One of those ways would be to flush out North Waziristan. An analogy would be one loosing a leg to live another day. Now, no one wants to loose a body part but they do it anyway in times of emergency.

TTP etc would do suicide bombings but they need to be finished off once and for all. Imran or his PTI doesn't control FATA anyway, so I don't know why he is running off his mouth about NWA? Sometimes, I wish he had been a desi ron jeremy instead of a politician in Pakistan.

Re: War on terror, what now?

What about South Punjab and other FATA areas where they have strong presence too?

Re: War on terror, what now?

There were a few catchy things for the militants to carry out recruitment of people. American war, US has partly countered that by stopping drone strikes. They will be drawing down from aghanistan soon. The people are fed up and their rank and files tired, in this scenario I don't see them getting fresh recruits. If the government now wants the they can flush them out.
