Re: War on terror, what now?
You are entitled to your opinion. We may disagree with Imran Khan’s current stance but he is not responsible for the mess we are in. More than 40 years of sustained brainwashing by the media and education curriculum has brought us where we are now.
To put things into perspective:
-
Bhutto started arming Afghan warlords (Hekmatyar and Sayaf).
-
Zia persisted with the policy (in fact took it forward). The establishment used these groups to hedge their bets in Afghanistan and Kashmir.
-
Nawaz Sharif and Benazir continued the policies. In fact it was under Benazir’s tenure (Naseerullah Babar) when Pakistani intelligence brought together various militant groups to form taleban in Afghanistan.
-
The tenure of Musharraf and Zardari we all know.
Punching bag is predictably IK but the players who brought upon this menace are others.
