We are in perpetual war for the past 10 years. The game actually started 35 years ago when ISI and CIA created these militants in the first place. Seeing their success in Afghanistan the military establishment replicated them in Kashmir. Hence began the policy of using militants as foreign policy tools.
Come 911, the military which had been raising them had to confront them (to please those who had helped creating them) and this gave us the taste of the medicine we had been recommending others.
Anyways, 10 years since this war started what’s Pakistans score card?
have we defeated the militants? Has their capability to attack us been decimated? How many attacks has the military apparatus neutralised? How many high profile terrorists have been arrested and punished so far?
The people who have suffered as a result of this war are ordinary people (killed in indiscriminate attacks by the army/drones and those who are killed by the militants in reprisal attacks). The terrorists just go underground (or relocate to other places) only to surface later. Who should be punished for the senseless slaughter of over 50000 people? Those zombies who are carrying out these attacks or those who created them?
