A total fookin disappointment. Don't know what was worse, the dumb aliens or the dumb treatment of the movie. It starts out showing how lousy a father Tom Cruise is and the invasion starts right away. Some good visual effects, still not good enough to redeem it off it's other flaws. The movie loses pace and gets almost lethargic when Tim Robbins enters the scene. After that it is just downhill. Ending is way too dumb and no, no one dies. But I was wishing I had died watching it.

Oh man, it is nto getting good reviews so far and two or three guppies arent that thrilled either. I was kinda looking forward to it.

it's that bad! not too crazy about alien movies so wasn't going to watch it anyways.

It was to be expected. Most alien movies are total duds and unrealistic anyway.

Thank God I spent money on Batman Begins and not this movie. It is not getting too many encouraging reviews.

I enjoyed this movie. It kept me entertained all the way through, and sure, the ending wasn't as good as it could have been, but it fit atleast. I thought the turning point was rather quick though, for such advanced species who planted those machines there millions of years ago, and have the capability to transport through lightning into the ground, into the machines, you'd think they would have dominated and got the job done. That's how I would have had the movie end, but hey that's me and I'm sick and twisted. The proper ending was everyone gets out alive and somehow conquers the overwhelming odds, then everyone is happy and smiley.

Ya I wouldn't really recommend it to be a theatre movie. Batman wasn't that good either, but better than this.

I came out of the movie feeling verrrrry disappointed - I guess its because I'd seen the series and was expecting too much... but even so... the ending was very abrupt - some special effects were good but at other points, they were severly lacking ingenuity.

I also watched the t.v. show for a long time Umar and I also was slightly disappointed.
I was hoping they would make some really good cliffhanger where in the sequel the humans would form a 'resistance' after learning some more about the aliens, what they want, what their weaknesses are and go into space and attack them from there. I hoped for too much. :D
It was a very depressing movie. I read in a few reviews that it is supposed to be an anti-war, specifically an anti-iraq war flick, but I didn't see those themes.
The movie is entertaining though and a bit scary at times. I just wish there was more of a story, like in one of the best sci fi movies ... 'V'. Now that is a classic sci fi movie.
