How many beheadings happened in early Islam under Rasulullah’s leadership? Did it pain Rasulullah to kill anyone in Jihad? Or did they advertise their conquests with excitement the way ISIS does? In Jihad at the time, were women really taken as slaves and if they were, what were they made to do as slaves? Clean and cook? Were they forced into marriages? Or it was up to them whether to marry a muslim? There is one hadith I remember not so fondly of Ali (R) coming out of some hut, in the process of taking a shower after he had relations with a slave - this was when he was married to Fatima R. So were sexual relations happening with POW’s in Jihad? How many of these hadith are strong vs. weak? How much of this is supported by the Quran vs. only being found in hadith?
RasoolAllah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam avoided conflict, And Jihad fi sabilillah is not like regular ‘killing’. But yes Islam believes in it whether through beheading or without. The western world also used the guillotine till recently. Battles as a whole are a gruesome affair. Being blown up by a bomb is similar to being wounded fatally with sword, spears, arrows etc
Also Islam took in prisoners of war including women, who were treated as wives. The Quran mentions this as ‘what your right hand posesseth’. Sexual relations did take place between these women and Muslims. Some of the Imams of the early period were born from such relations.
It can be appreciated that this taking in of prisoners is better then leaving them without men [who had been killed in battle] in non Islamic environments, where they would also sleep with men but have no family or welfare for them
I will just add, their are ayat in quran where God tells muslim ment and women to marry such women/met.
As a result only women slave left, who could not become wives or have regular family, with share in inheritance for their children, where the ones who were disabled etc…
