waqar bol para....

Re: waqar bol para....

Is this only for Pakistanis? Indian, Bengladeshi, Sri Lankan, Nepali, Afghani are divinely gifted?

Re: waqar bol para....

well, i think it is no secret and guppies know how much I love waqar as a fast bowler and yes i rate him to be the best fast bowler produced by pakistan (better than akram and imran) but i finally concede that he is not a very strategic coach and it is time for him to move on....

what really surprised me that this time he could not make any big difference to our fast bowlers either or maybe they are so pathetic that not much can be done abt them. I know how waqar transformed rana naveed into a pretty decent fast bowler and he started to bowl those deadly yorkers at will.

anyway, waqar is a total legend and any other board will use him to train their young fast bowlers. that is what he shd do. train fast bowlers. he shd stay away from full time coaching

Re: waqar bol para....

but honestly speaking, if waqar said that kick ahmad shezad out, kick umar akmal out and dont bring them back right away....and if he already recommended that afridi shd not lead the team but if PCB did not listen to any of this at all, then how much more a coach can do. you are undermining him in a big way.

like i said, waqar has limited abilities as a strategic coach but no one in PCB listened to him either. PCB sucks big time

Re: waqar bol para…

I believe it is the captain who tells the bowler how/what type of bowling is needed in a situation, if captain is not asking him for a yorker but tells him to go for short balls and wait for batsmen to make mistakes then not much bowler can do…

However, on many occasions bowlers are also supposed to think and bowl per changing situation i.e. Wahab bowling to Smith when he was way outside off :smack: instead of yorking middle stump he followed Smith sigh

Re: waqar bol para....

If you remember, right after the ODIWorld cup, Both Misbah and Waqar ask/adviced board to drop Shehzad and Akmal, it was Afridi who got both of them in T20 and now he is crying... I say serves him right.

Re: waqar bol para....

Well I don't have any experience working with Afghans and Nepalis, but yes, Indians who are highly educated and qualified definitely make much better administrators than their Pakistani counter parts. They are more professional and grounded. Most importantly, Indians and Bangalis get along really well with their fellow countrymen.

But God oh God, the moment you put bunch of Pakistanis in a set up, all sorts of treachery, backstabbing, power struggles and undermining starts. They bring this disgusting culture of unprofessionalism, hierarchy and mistrust from Pakistan. They have no sense of discipline.

I think the only way to fix PCB is to hire a white managing director from England or Australia. There simply aren't enough credible and competent people in Pakistan to run any organisation or institution properly.

Yes time to admit that you do indeed have a skills shortage in the country!

Re: waqar bol para....

As with Waqar, he's a real self made working class hero. Much respect for him. It's just shame that Pakistanis don't know how to respect their heroes and legends, every single hero and legend in Pakistan has their 'mitti paleed' in the country.

There's a brain drain in Pakistan in every single field, it won't be an end of the world if another talent take a flight out of the country. When your name is Waqar Younis, a commentary stint or a contract in IPL alone is enough to make triple the money you'd get with PCB for two years contract.

Those who bashing Waqar by sitting US/UK, you are more than welcomed to quit your cushy jobs and work in any organisation in Pakistan. and see to what extent you manage to bring a change in a typically Pakistani system plagued with nepotism, treachery and dirty politics.

Re: waqar bol para....

Indians have several gods on their side - Indra, Varuna, Agni, Sachin - to name a few.

Re: waqar bol para....

Thank you for sharing **YOUR **experience.

So from **your words **looks like there is no successful institution in Pakistan, all institutions are rotten. I see a different Pakistan.

Re: waqar bol para…

So Waqar blamed each and everyone while Afridi took the whole blame on himself

See the difference

Re: waqar bol para....

Report everything is good it will help you stay relevant as people sitting on top want this.

Re: waqar bol para....

Waqar, Afridi and umar akmal should NOT resign. Because if they resign, then how will Nawaz Sharif and Najam Sethi please India Sarkar. Shoaib Akhtar already giving a brilliant performance off field. They also need loyalty on field.

Re: waqar bol para....

Whoever is the next coach, he should be given absolute power for 2 (maybe 3) years and then held totally accountable for the team's performance.

He should hire his own selection committee but its role should be advisory only.
He can hire and fire his own assistant coaches and should deal with players as he sees fit.

Then, he will have no one else to shift the blame on and must produce results.
